Q:
Torch skills considered Fire (condition) damage?
A:
Cleansing Flame (5) and Zealot’s Fire (4 Chain) do not burn, but deal direct damage. Burning occurs at the beginning and end of Zealot’s Flame (4) for 5 seconds before Condition Duration.
Torch #5 can however trigger our virtue (or stack it onto existing burning) because of how many times it hits in the channel. Part of the reason sword/torch works great with a condition setup.

Would it be ideal to stack some condition damage then if I run a high damage sword/torch build? Currently i am in full berserker and can run about 75%+ Crit (with 15% crit for 1h trait and 2 5% sigils) and at around 80-90% Critical damage.
Or with this gear setup would it be better to switch to Greatsword (haven’t really tried it out so idk how it compares)

Sweet Dwayna. 75% crit? Wow. Okay.
So, whether or not you’re stacking Condition damage, I can’t really decide because I don’t know your gear or your strategy. All I know is that you do get a clean 300 condition damage from the Radiance tree because you’re taking Right-Hand Strength. If you can add in some Condition damage along with Precision and Crit Damage, go for it.
Remember that Condition damage affects Burn damage by a 0.25 coefficient. So that means 100 condition damage improves burn damage by 25.
So in your case, with—say—500 condition damage (300 from Radiance, 200 from gear) you’re looking at 453 damage per second from Burning. Without any condition damage gear at all, that’s 403 condition damage. With 400 from gear, that’s 503 condition damage per second.
With 10 seconds of burn, that’s a difference of 4,000 damage, 4500 damage or 5,000 damage. Your call.
Again, it really depends on your build and how heavily you’re stacking burn, and how often you’re using it, and so on.
Thanks for the advice Eveningstar
