How much are you stacking in sPvP?
And how much do you value it/see a difference without it?
Thanks,
-Tzenjin lvl 67 Guardian.
I can’t check, since I don’t have my PC here today, but I’ve been using a lot of Toughness, and you’re survivability noticeably rises.
I stack toughness with cleric gear and it is very noticeable but I would like to see how much defense is worth in damage reduction. Also would like to know if there is diminishing returns when stacking stats.
I’ve got around 2.5k toughness on my spec for sPVP but how much exactly does toughness even help?
I’ve tried searching around but couldn’t find it. It it like 1000 toughness = 10% reduced damage or something?
Toughness reduces damage for each incoming physical attack. Guardians wear heavy armor, and thus receive more protection per hit than most other professions.
Examine what is defeating you the most in each sPvP match. Is it the spinning dervish with his many-thousand-blades? …Is it the constant stunning and control effects you can’t overcome? …Or is the multiple conditions and stacks that you can’t outlast? …Or perhaps your opponents are consistently smarter, stronger, and faster?
In closing: The answer to your question of how much toughness to bring to each fight, unfortunately, varies by situation, skill, teamwork, terrain, your opponents, and a hundred other contributing factors.
Currently 70. Still not much in terms of experience but i do plan on stacking toughness.
This is because i hear of many dissatisfied customers of healing stacking. Toughness is easier to upkeep than raw HP.
If i’m not mistaken, toughness can be penetrated by conditions to a more effective degree (although i hear talks that toughness reduces it to an extent), which is why people prefer the well-rounded vitality because it’ll basically mitigate any form of damage…
My take on the above paragraph is to take some vit with the toughness, but ultimately pump toughness because it’ll maximize your heal (don’t want to go into an eHP discussion here). If it is true that conditions will be your bane, i’m sure condition removal is somewhere in a guardian’s arsenal. A bit selfish, yes, but i’m not building a martyr or cleric, i’m building a knight. Can you guess what rune set i’m going for?
P.S. the world is full of physical pow/prec attackers and and only a few condition dealing builds. I’d rather test my mettle against the many.
