Tpvp... Any other viable DPS builds?
Try the 2 handed DPS build from Silven’s Guide: http://tinyurl.com/kjhnvt5
(Silven’s sticky thread here)
It’s basically an AH Bunker build with a zerker amulet, but it’s a great hybrid between a bunker and DPS build. You can hold points nearly as well as a pure bunker build since so much defense comes from traits anyways. At the same time, you have enough damage to down enemies.
It’s a terrible 1 v 1 build, so don’t use it for roaming, but if you stick with your team, you’ll rock it in team fights.
Personally, I like this build a lot for solo Q since it’s versatile enough to work for a random team. If you don’t have a bunker, you can do a decent job on holding points, particularly since you have so much CC. If you end up with other bunkers though, you will be able to down enemies instead of getting stuck in a long standoff.

Terrible build for spvp in my opinion, you have to run around with2 other team mates ALL the time or you are dead.
Try this out. You are tough as a bunker and while your dont have crit your self, spirit weapon damage gives you essentially the equivalent of 100% crit chance, plus the know down utility. I never bring both weapons out, but rather rotate through them to always keep one up. ofcourse you could burst by poping both.

I’m questioning your reasoning to call another build terrible after looking through yours.
Silven’s 2 handed dps build is great for team fights, which is where most guardians belong unless running a medi burst build. It has great survivability and good dps. Along with condition removal on each shout.
On the other hand, you’ve got the combined condition removal of… Signet of Resolve’s passive. You dumped over half your traits into spirit weapons that are still practically useless fully traited. The only thing I can see that isn’t terrible, in your words, is stand your ground.
I agree with the guy above me.
Also I don’t think that many people understand… the reason why meditations are the thing you want on an offensive guardian isn’t that they heal. At least judges invervention and smite condition are pretty much mandatory if you want to get any actual burst off and not just hit a few autoattacks every now and then or spam scepter auto all day. I would take them even if monks focus wouldn’t exist.
If you absolutly don’t want to use meditations… signets are kind of decent, you’re even more squishy than with meditations, they are extremly easy to avoid, the possible surprise factor is destroyed by the signets passives showing in your bar. It’s pretty fun to kill terrible players with it tho. You can get a few gimmicky bursts off. The knockdown is kinda kewl.
Something like this.
I threw it together in like 30 seconds, pretty simple stuff.
It’s pretty much inferior in any way to this
But it’s hipster stuff and I guess that’s what you were looking for.
You can swap stability for condi removal in bow, if it fits your stile better. This build has the same dps as AH but much higher healing for your self and your party, plus knock downs. And you can bunker as well. the only thing AH does better is chasing.

Go spirit weapons,
6/6/0/0/2
GS + Scepter/Shield
Zerk Amulet
Heal: Shelter or Signet depending if you want condi clear
Spirit Sword, Spirit Hammer, + your choice here (I switch between SYG/Purging Flame/Bow Spirit)
Elite: Renewed Focus or Tome of Wrath for lolss
It’s a good 1v1 build (high burst) if you can apply the small amount of micro management you need for spirit weapons, it does ok in team fights as long as you don’t fight on aoe circles. I’ve played it about 20 times in top 100 soloq and do fine pushing far or holding home…ocassionally joining in team fights.

Yeah Ive seen spirit weapon builds… but I feel like Im wasting viable utilities. I will play around, I just wish there was more build varieties.

You don’t have to run around with 2 other people, lol. You won’t win as many 1v1 fights with the build I linked like you would with a meditation build, but you can draw them out until help arrives like a bunker build. That’s one of the main strengths of the build: you can defend many situations nearly as well as a bunker while being able to contribute meaningful DPS with lots of utility.
Also, I would strongly recommend against spirit weapons in PvP almost as much as I would recommend against Tome of Wrath, lol.
If you’re looking for a dps build that’s a bit different, give this a look.

Lots of symbol damage, good condition removal and great in team fights. Works really well on point with the symbols, and the consecrations fit the build really well.
With the trait points leftover from the valor line, I put 5 into zeal and 1 into honor picking up +35% possible damage. Really, the core of the build is x/x/x/4/4, and you can use the last 6 points where ever fits your playstyle.

I once did a double greatsword spirit weapon build with on swap sigils of hydromancy and such. It was gimmicky but the dps was great.

No meditations but all three meditation traits?
I’m just gonna assume that’s an error or something, but you might wanna fix that up

Ah, I must have built it on top of my meditation build. Thanks for noticing.
edit: fixed.

Yeah Silven’s 2h damage build is a great way to go, more survivability than a triple med (in my opinion, less damage tho so I’m not talking crap about triple meditation don’t worry ;D). If you want a little more damage out of it you can swap soldiers rune for strength runes then air and battle on both weapons. Also I generally recommend air over fire anyways, the radius on fire is a little too small and you almost always end up in a 1v1 at some point where air is better.
Also empower + strength runes is pretty sweet. You can empower, swap to hammer (or greatsword, greatsword will get you more damage but less control) then pop F1 and bam, you’re at 18 might stacks.
