Tried Pure DH. My Experience
If that’s your opinion, why continue playing what you think is bad/inferior/ect?
I guess you are the one that likes “we are in a good spot” theme for guardians and “if you don’t like it go play some other class”.
I want to improve this class, we are falling behind rapidly to other classes. I don’t live in same universe with you where guardian is dd cele ele or something srry. saying we are fine wont help us either. I see you are burn guard so you were buffed a lot but wait until they nerf burning than you will change your story quickly.

I won’t, but that doesn’t mean that I won’t continue to advocate for what was my favorite class.

Ragnarox, Ghost might have a point there, as many of us would like to see guardian feeting several roles, and see useless utilities start to showing in combat, that is not how this game is being worked, if u notice Anet only know the existence of GS fire medi guard, so only that and DH will work, i still have no problems downing bunker guards in spvp it is a sorta placebo build and will only work in very few situations, i had to face and change to what works best, gw2 players need to be clever and see what is the flavour class Anets “makes best” for the momment .
Players still need to see the changes that the other specs will bring to the game.
And yes i find Guardian more gimmicky(all a player needs is to know when to use JI and GS WW, output damage on this game is very easy to tune it up) and everything outside that is weaker, we gain few and lost alot.

It’s interesting how we’re finally seeing some people “make DH work” while others still think it’s a subpar build. That’s good, there’s hope yet.
Traps with stuns.
Blocks condi removal
F1 cripples in addition to burns
Hopefully this next BWE will be enough to push DH viability in Tournament play instead of a “maybe it’s OK” in SoloQ – lower tier PvP.
Right now, DH is far from being OK. It downright sucks in Tournament play. Comparing and using the build in higher tier PvP is what we should use as a determinant.

The one caveat to that is, not everyone plays high-tier pvp. In creating something that needs to fit in pve, wvw, and pvp, it’s hard to try and make everything be a good pick in a subset of the game. There’s multiple ways to play pve, and multiple ways to play wvw. Dragonhunter might not necessarily fit all of those different styles. Especially something like traps. High tier pvp might just not be exactly what DH was built around.
However I’ve got another thought on pvp. I think people aren’t very willing to experiment with new things in the higher tiers. This goes for any class. People might try a weird build here and there, but I don’t think anyone really tries to go after really getting down to the core of the idea. It happens in every tiered game where it’s easier to just use what other people have established. Then when the Meta is built around that, there’s little incentive to change. Meta-killing builds are a rare sight even when they’re extremely valuable to find.
My main dislike for traps is their long CDs. They’d be a lot more useful in the 20-30s range, instead of the kitten they are now. With a shorter cooldown trapper runes become interesting. Plop down the one with the lowest CD to proc stealth, then drop the others unseen where you need them.
1- I am at a loss as to why so many people are acting like @$$ hats on this thread. I don’t remember seeing where the OP said that traps/bow were great.
2-Coming from a trap ranger, it’s silly reading some of the comments.

I can’t remember where these are, and I apologize. Traps aren’t at kitten cooldowns like the wiki lists. Procession of Blades is around 25. 2 of Fragments of Faith, Test of Faith, and Lights Judgement are around 30-35s iirc. On top of this, the trap trait also reduces cooldown by 20%, so expect traps to be around the 20-36s areas when traited.
