Trouble deciding armor stats for my Guardian
I run berserker with marauder trinkets but will change to full marauder.
For open world? Pick whatever you want, it dont matter
For WvW? dont know sry.
For Fractals/raids? When you do content with others, it is generally polite to be useful and not just be carryed. For Guard this mean full berserker (of if you are really bad on you class some marauder)

FOr open world, you’re gear matters quite a bit .. unless you don’t mind taking 30 seconds or so killing a trash mob.
Berserkers is what you should run in open world if you want the fastest kills. Also note that if you play it right, Sinister is quite effective as well for fast kills. Depends on your personal preference.
I run pretty much full marauder for wvw. Mix in some zerker for Open World PVE. I hate the low Health Pool of guardians.

Ascended solo roaming gear, your zerg set can just as well be exotic as the difference isn’t huge.
Sonya for females. (necro,rev,ranger,mes,engi)
All classes lvl 80.
The new Bloodstone Fen trinkets are a great way to experiment with stats. Attune or infuse one of your rings and you have 4 trinkets that you can re-stat for only 100 unbound magic cost.
I’ve experimented with Healing Power and Toughness, but neither offered much benefit. Next I’m going to change them to Rampager’s and couple with Signet of Wrath and Kindled Zeal to see how that affects my burns (I play a symbol-heavy build in PVE)
Only real reason for ascended over exotic for armor is if you need the agony resistance for fractals, so discussing stat choices for any other content is in my opinion, pointless. Specifically for armor on this, cuz the stats don’t increase that much.
If doing fractals, it depends on your build. If Power, Berserker (or some Commander if you are set up for group boon support). For Condi, Viper.
Marauder armour/weapons/amulet is a 5-6% dps loss, but can make the difference between a one-shot and surviving. Being downed means neither you nor the person rezzing you are doing any damage.
If you are confident with your mechanics, then go ahead and play at 12k health, but if not, don’t kitten yourself because “zerker meta”.
I’m sure most players lose a lot more dps to bad rotations and high ping, anyway.

I run Marauder as my all purpose armor set as far as open world & WvW on my guard/DH.

I run full marauders with traveler runes, power and might gain sigils. I also run the less popular trait empowering might. I can usually spike stack around 15 might against 1 or 2 foes, and quickly stack up to 25 in a mob, for myself and others. This is straight physical damage with good crit.
Git gud and zerker.
Actually no need to git gud, scepter being the highest DPS weapon ATM you can chill in the back alongside necros and tempests.
“Getting picked” by bosses also known as “aggro” is random in this game. Having celestial armor won’t guarantee anything.
