Unkillable Guardian Build (viable)
I was also wondering which gearset would be best to use
I would say that bunker guard is pretty unkillable for a lot of classes and builds, especially those that are melee focused.
A good condi user can ALWAYS wear you down sooner or later tho.
videos sometimes deppends on gear of the adversary, in my bunker build sometmes i can hold like 15-20 for more than 30 seconds(if they dont relly on condi spam), but by the other hand i can melt on 1v1, high power/crit and condi builds will always prevail over defense on gw2.
its a large group build or roaming?
I guess I want a roaming build, where I can mitigate damage for as long as possible
It’s not really a “tank” build, but meditations have good self healing capacities and with some gear investment you could be a nuisance. But when roaming, having a full tanky guardian won’t get you dem loot bags. Maybe try a x/x/6/x/4 build, with absolute resolution. Ah isn’t that great in <5 man roaming, and the mobility of meditation makes it easier to stick with your roaming friends. That, along with the heal from meditations and the condi cleanse on virtue of resolve is already a start for being tanky.

Guardian can be almost unkillable only in group an achievement that several warriors can do much better.
High burst builds shred apart high vit and hight toughness guardians, glassh cannon thiefs can still crit pretty hard since armor after 3k turn out to be useless and only works better against auto atacks, best defense is make damage and make target hesitate, and pretty much like you said they dont do damage, i carry that burden on my actual wvw build since im tired of meditations and thinking of damage only, its like any other stats are almost not viable.
@OP go to meditation build, with focus sword or mace, mace 3rd skill can bug alot but sometimes it helps.

Meanwhile ele, engi, & warrior can all bunker as well or better while doing more damage.

Yes, I don’t think it was a coincidence that the two winning teams in the Tournament of Legends 2 did not use a Guardian on their teams. One of them had two Engineers and an Elementalist while the other had two Elementalists and an Engineer.
After all, why take a profession that can only bunker when you can take the ones that can bunker and actually do some damage. A really sad state of affairs for the future of the Guardian in PvP.

Yes, I find it ironic (and I think it has been posted here on the forums before) that the symbol for the Guardian profession is a shield and yet it is one or our worst, least used weapons in fact.

Unkillable builds are shutdown by players with perma-poison, like necros or even a decent thief that doesn’t kill himself through retaliation/burn.
I built this solely for 2 man roaming with a thief buddy of mine, and its one purpose was to not die out manned, and to not die to conditions. While it is nice and tanky keep in mind that most of your direct damage mitigation comes from good dodges and proper positioning as with any build. (And use of blinds and blocks in the case of the guardian) After countless hours roaming and guild grouping, and over 1800 hours on guardian, this has become my tried and true “unkillable” build. The power isn’t bad for a bunker and it can hit 2k with guard stacks. The build doesn’t play itself so skill with a guardian is required and I speak nothing is what gearing it out costs but for a build that doesn’t go down, this is it.
Note: I usually run Signet of Resolve as you get a feel for when you can hit it without being interrupted and for the extra condi cleanse, however I recommend shelter when conditions aren’t a huge issue or you are outmanned more than 3-1. (Or your skill with the guardian is less than ideal) Also Purity can be changed out for Strength in Numbers if you feel you need more toughness or you are running in a group.
