I understand there’s more than one way to cook a pig, but the second tier of traits in the valor line is just unnecessary. You have a choice between

-Shield CD and 180 toughness
-150 toughness for nearby allies
-give allies Aegis when you block

I feel like those are all basically being used for the exact same thing. I mean it’s basically a question of whether or not you have Aegis traits. If so grab Aegis. If not grab the toughness. At this point some people probably thing I’m forgetting something, but no shield is never an option.

you are 100 % right. Without shield buff there is no reason to take the shield trait ever.

i agree, i think most traits in most of the lines are pretty meh

edit. master’s, i’ll agree in that i think the trait options are limiting. you can’t take a line and play it as a support or a dps. its either a support line or dps.

While no one will ever get excited about shield anything, the way this trait is designed is actually quite good; 3 similar effects for 3 completely different situations. It falls short on execution because shield sucks, not because the traits are necessarily bad.

Depending how Shattered Aegis works out, Communal Defense could be pretty good and we might get a sick burst build out of that. I agree no reason to take shield CD but if we compare Empowering Allies (150 power) vs SiN (150 toughness) they are not quite equal, just sharing the same number. SiN should give at least 250 Toughness to have the same impact that EA has.
