Video on how broken scepter auto attack is.
I noticed this when I was “trolling” a Thief using a Shortbow. I moved side to side to see what it would do and the arrow shots would get “sucked” into me when they were close.
They just need to add that similar behavior to the Scepter.

Because that’s always an option right? You do realize that there are times where you absolutely must switch to a ranged weapon.
Jumping up and down also seems to work to help avoid projectiles. I often do this when running out/away from a zerg etc. and notice shots whizzing above my head and not dealing damage. Not sure if being an asura helps me with this or not. Would like some one else to test it as well if they could.
I played a ranger and remember going against another ranger using a shortbow.
just taping the strafes sends the projectile on a path to intercept.what would be good is to delay using an intercepting path until the person has been moving for a second.
but yes, i agree the auto attack projectile speed on the scepter needs to be increased.
The slow speed is just salt in the wounds for ranged weapons.
There is no reason for a Magical Orb of light not to change course and force the target to dodge. however they would need to reduce the auto attack speed as the chance for a hit has increased.sorry if my post seemed off, i was half asleep and did not mean for this to come out like that.

However being an asura doesnt affect anything. As all the hit boxes are normalised. Arenanet voiced this during beta. So your tactic would work.
I do stand by there being a delay initially so it fires at the current position and not the projected position.
I just thought, (it did hurt but i got there in the end :P) wasnt the inital move speed a slow ramp up during beta? This would mean under those circumstances the current targeting/projectile system would work perfectly. Need the targeting/projectile system to be brought up to date.

I disagree. That’s assuming the current state is balanced. That’s literally one step forward, one step back.
If you made it home but move slower, then all you’re doing is forcing the DPS to be low instead of having the chance that it will be medium+. As it is now, your DPS will be low because you miss so much, but if you end up getting a few hits in quickly your DPS will jump. Making the orbs home but also move slower is basically guaranteeing your DPS will be (X) when it used to be (X+Y).
That being said, I think the balance would be in only giving partial homing to where it can only change by, let’s say 30 degrees left/right. If you fired a wall of these at an enemy they would all shift towards them, but because they can only home so much you wouldn’t be guaranteed to be hit by all of them.
