Virtue of courage apply aegis to downed ally?
Someone may correct me but Aegis is a boon, and I don’t think any boons apply to downed allies.

Will activating virtue of courage apply aegis to downed allies?
I’ve been trying to use it in spvp to acheive this result, but almost always the enemies stomp still goes through and defeats my ally. Things are usually so frenetic in pvp that I don’t have time to check to see if the Aegis landed and was removed by an attack by another player, or whether the aegis never affected the downed ally at all.
Stomps go through anything, even blindness. Aegis wont stop that if it even applies on downed allies, which i’m not sure of
Boon Dispenser. Lv80 Guardian 15/25/0/20/10 Boom Dispenser – Lv80 Engineer 30/30/0/10/0
Chuck Thunderstruck – Lv 80 Ele 30/10/10/10/10
The only things that are going to stop the stomp, is actually stopping the animation, Stealthing the ally (stomp has no effect if the target is not visible) or the ally moving far enough away from the stomp (thief downed #2, or by some idiotic move of the enemy, a knockback on a downed ally) as mentioned before things like blind and aegis (if it can even be applied) will not stop it. You either have to down the enemy, knock them off, or move/stealth your ally.

And as a guard and you are downed in spvp, don’t even bother with #2 skill, the enemy will have stability, and you will be dead with your worthless #2 skill.

A: Not everyone has stability.
B: Not everyone has stability off cooldown at that moment.
C: Not everyone is willing to pop stability to get a stomp off.
D: If you’re sitting downed on a point that is contested with an ally/allies on it, popping 2 may knock the enemy off of it long enough to get the cap.
Long story short, it’s useful.

Thanks for the observations. One thing that surprises me, I thought blind did stop a stomp, as I believe blind has stopped my stomps in the past…

I disagree. Only thing I agree with is that you can try to use it, because there’s little else you can do for those moments before you are dead.

I raised four points, which one do you disagree with and why?

The aegis will still be applied, (can be useful in pve to save an ally from a big chargeup attack) but stomping goes through aegis (and blind).

In most cases against smart players, but it’s worth popping it at the last second anyways, even if they have stability up. You never know when a teammate will get a last second clutch boon strip or something.
