Visionary's Helm
I originally picked the Fanatic’s Shoulder’s cause I think they look awesome, I then realised the Visionary’s Helm is completely unique and actually looks really good too, so I made a new Guardian, got a transmutation stone and transmuted the Visionary’s Helm onto like a level 10 or so common helmet. That made the item account bound. I then banked it, went on my Guardian main and transmuted it again onto the helmet I wanted it on.
I think that recently they have made it so you can’t do that anymore but I could be wrong. If you ask me, I guess it is technically an exploit.

I also chose the Visionary Helm and still like its aesthetics but as you progress levels you invariably find armour that gives your character more flavour – mainly due to sets (its impossible to have both the visionary helm and shoulders for instance).
However, if you want practical advice – transmogrification stones can combine the look of one piece of armour with the stats of another. These come in 2 kinds:
lvl 1-79 and lvl 80.
The lvl 80 stones can be hard to come by if you’re not planning on using gems. The lvl1-79 stones however, can be acquired relatively easily.
TL;DR – completing a capital city (any of the 5) rewards 3 lvl1-79 transmogrification stones.
>I did exactly this with my Visionary helm until about lvl 50 because I too liked its look.

I see, thanks anyway… I guess I will stick with the background then. If you ask ME, makes no sense put the item as unique in game, since the Warrior has 2 helmets in his character creation options and both can be found in game. But…
Anyone can confirm this? And if is an exploit?

AH, even picking the right background I’d like to keep using the helmet. And I was talking about these transmutation stones.
I don’t see how its an exploit. If it is, then transmuting any equipment at all is an exploit.
Well, creating an item that is soulbound, transmuting so it’s suddenly account bound instead of soulbound, even though it says that transmuting will make it soulbound and then giving it to another character and then transmuting it again, making it soulbound does seem a little bit like bending the rules a little if you ask me! Granted, I still did it because I realised I wanted the dam helmet as well.

Technically not, using that method I mentioned above. Here’s a picture of my Warrior.
Edit: I wanted to name him, “Effective Guardian” but I thought it was a little too subtle

If I’m not mistaken, it used to make items soulbound, but they changed it to account instead and had not corrected the description yet. I could be wrong though.
They’ve obviously done something to it though, here’s some pictures of me trying to transmute my original, untouched Fanatic’s Mantle onto the cheapest shoulders I could find on the Trading Post. You’ll notice that the transmute button is greyed out, however, if I were to transmute it the other way, that is, put the Fanatic’s Mantle’s stats on the cheap shoulders, the transmute button is able to be pressed.

Someone just messaged me in game and mentioned that using a masterwork quality item would do it. I tried it and it worked! I never used masterwork previously when it used to work. Curiouser and curiouser…
Edit: One thing that I did notice, even though the transmute worked, the item remained soulbound and did not become account bound at any point.

It’s still possible to transmute the skin to white/blue items, which will make it account bound, I just did the same yesterday. It seems that there is a bug with the transmutation stone though,
you have to put the visionary helm to the left and the white helmet to the right side might be the other way around, but the position in the interface matters. I know it shouldn’t but I am pretty sure that that’s what fixed it for me. I know for certain that I had the visionary’s look and the lvl10 white stats under each other while the button was greyed out, switching the order around fixed it for me.

Yeap, this is right. Worked here.

Says the new item WILL be sounbounded, so I am guessing it was one of the changes?
Just to clarify, I once read a very similar topic. One of the devs posted and said that the whole transmuting the helm/shoulders to make them account bound and have both on one char thing is NOT an exploit, so feel free to do it

As far as I remember, the item originally said soulbound, when it really was account bound. None of the mechanics ever got touched at all, it was just the wording on them that got changed.
The new update makes it much easier to accomplish this, I made a new character and put the visionary armor piece into the bank, once it’s there you get the skin for the item for all characters.
