Guild Wars 2

So i’ve been farming Fractals on my thief to grab enough relics to get an ascended backpiece and 2 rings, on top of having laurels and eventually guild commendations to get the 2 other trinkets, but the one thing i’m uncertain of, is which ones i should be purchasing as a guardian.

What i’m hoping to do with my guardian is heavily solo pve content and do high level fractals with him as a support/damage based role, because of this, i’m leaning towards PVT, but i’m honestly not sure what high level fractals are like, as i’ve only gone up to level 20, so any help would be greatly appreciated on this.

For the build i was planning on going with the basic 0/0/30/30/10 build, as it seems to be a fairly good cookie cutter support spec while also providing moderate amounts of damage.

(Also while we’re on the subject, if i were to go for a support build focused on high level fractals, what gear would i want to look for? Clerics? Or is PTV the norm i want to stick with?)

I’m not a high level fractaleer, but I can tell you that whatever build and gear you decide will determine what types of ascended trinkets you get. Think of the ascended stuff as just icing to the proverbial cake. Those 2-4 extra stat points won’t make that big of a difference. What you’re wanting is Agony Resistance. You should focus on your primary build/gear and then build for that.

For high fracs, I’ve heard healing (ala Clerics gear) doesn’t matter to jack squat (and jack left town). Doesn’t matter what stats you have as you will be one shotted regardless. Therefore a lot of people will go for DPS only for this reason alone.

Seems to make sense, the problem i’m having is i can’t think of what build would be viable in high level fractals, because, as i’ve said, never actually done them so i’ve not seen how other guardians play.

I am a full zerker guardian and have no problems in high level fractals. Just missing one ear ring now…. I only advice this if you are good at timing your evades and are running AHEM.

When you get to the 40+ range of fractals everything pretty much kills you fast regardless to armor/toughness so I just try to kill it faster than it can kill me.

The same stats as the exotics you currently have in your current build that you are happy with.

Altruistic Healing + Empowering Might = AHEM
side note: If you are looking for a bit more survivability in general get Knights Armor with your Zerker Trinkets.
