What Gear With AH Build?
i’m using power/vit/tough armor with vit/crit/heal power trinkets and weapons (hammer and mace/shield)
as for the runes I use 4 Giver and 2 Monk, Sigils Rage on shield(might switch this one cause it doesn’t help as much as i thought it would) the one that gives +10 precision on kill for the mace and Intelligence on hammer for that nice 100% MB crit every 16 seconds
I usually go to this thread here for all AH related questions, it’s a highly informative guide and very useful.

I did see this actually, and looked at it when it was first released. But would prefer a more recent guide
nothing has changed, its still valid and there is no reason to not using the guide, i update it when new findings are brought forward, i read every thread/post that is related to AH.
If you want to max the effect of AH then knights are the best both from a crit perspective and a healthpool perspective. The smaller the healthpool the more effective AH becomes and the same goes for toughness, the more toughness the more effective AH becomes.
Knights are a match made in heaven for a AH guardian.
And the above also answers what types of runes you should have.
Running the same trait distribution, I’ve been using full Knights armour (no siginficant runes yet, some MF stuff), with full soldier trinkets (P/V/T) inserted with Emerald Orbs (Pre/T/P). I am also running with a berserker Hammer and GS.
I feel I am not getting enough precision (crit rate is only 38%), so I instead go for full Knights trinkets (or even berseker trinkets)?
How bout knights and beryl orbs. Emerald and beryl jewellery. Simple and effective.

Going all same prefix gear and all same prefix trinkets isn’t maximizing your stat ratios. It is a good idea to mix and match.
For example: Weapons, Accessory, Amulets, Shoulders, Gloves, Boots could be Valks or zerker and Chest, Helm, Legs and Rings w/beryl or ruby upgrade could be knights.
This is a good read to better understand: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Item_nomenclature
If you plan on going full glass canon or full defensive then mixing isn’t idea.

I’ll give you my run down.
Head/Chest/Legs – Knights + Beryl Orb
Hands/Shoulder/Boots – Valkyrie + Beryl
Emerald jewelry + Ruby gems.
Beserker Weapon + <whatever you want, I have Beryl Orb>
Back is the Soldier Spineguard + Crest of the Soldier.
Couple the 0/15/30/20/5 build with your food and oil and you get some pretty decent stats. Close to 3k attk, 3k defense, 15k+ health, around 50%+ crit and about 75% crit dmg.

I run the same setup of traits i use gs and staff an of course all other weapons in bags for situations. Anyhow i use soldier gear 3 pieces boots gloves shoulders for chest legs helm i use berserker i put runes that increase boon duration 2 water superior 2 water major and 2 that i cant seem to remember the name of lol but they are superior. For jewelry i use lyssa karma jewelry i think its per, tough, healing i put ruby orbs in them. Then i use sigil of bloods in staff weapon swap gives might. Use life leeching food and precision oil. So thats my toon i do it because i find i still heal well and i have high precision about 50 crit with oil and 70 with fury. So it heals good enuf to stay alive and do a decent amount of dmg as well. I used to use knights and clerics stuff but it was just to much healing i was over healing alot and not pushing as much dps.
