What craft would benefit me the most?

You can do all of them on one character so I don’t see this as too much of a “what’s the best” issue. I did level armorsmithing while I was leveling though. Crafting myself new armor every 5 levels made it really easy to level the craft. If you’re gathering a lot, you won’t have to spend much money either.

None will benefit you really. In a game like WoW a craft gave certain stats bonuses. In GW2 it just lets you make stuff, stuff you can easily buy from the trading post. If you are set on making your own stuff instead of buying it though then yeah armor crafting is a good choice. With this you could also take weapon smithing or artificing for making your weapons.
I could only get two crafts, so you can’t get all of them?
You can have every craft in the game. What you do is choose new craft and decide which craft you want to retire from. You don’t lose any knowledge from the craft you are leaving. When you want to go back you just have to pay a small amount to make it active again. You can do this over and over.
I, at the moment, do Armorsmith, Weaponsmith, and Cook on my Guardian.
Unless you are doing the Legendary weapon, if you are see what reqs are for your weapon.
GS for example requires Armorsmithing and Weaponsmithing, so a lot of heavy armor dudes go for those first.
The cost to change back to a 400 levelled craft is 40s. It’s not a huge amount but can be significant for some.
cooking is nice for the buffs….
well for Guardian armorsmith will give you the most benefits as you can make yourself 6 items that are needed. i would say 2nd would be Jewel Craft as that gives you 5 items you can use. Weaponcraft would be debatable tho since its 1 item but it also bases the damage you do, weaponcraft would also be more important if you also use a shield.
Keep in mind some stat combos can NOT be crafted.
Main reason I am ignoring armor smithing, my preferred stat combo is available on AC armor and hotw armor.
I did armor and weapons on my guardian. My goal was to cover all of the professions among my 5 character slots and to pair the most obvious choices with the character.
I’d say if costs less than 10 gold to level 1-400 if you buy every single mat at market and more likely less than half that. No matter how you craft, you will get 10 levels doing it. There are guids and boosts that will be more efficient with the mats you use.
really depends on what you want and how you want to play. i mainly wanted to use crafting for fun, to craft for myself as well as leveling. i chose armorsmith and weaponsmith. made most sense to me in terms of what i can use. though i find myself using scepter and staff more often now (artificer?).
cooking is great for the buffs and more fun (no set process if i understand correctly) but i want to say hardest to farm mats for.
just a little plug, if you plan to craft a legendary or certain named exotics, you can take a look at what “gifts”, crafting components, you may need for that certain forge and you can focus on that as well.

Short Answer: The one that holds your attention the most.
They all have their benefits, but it’s the one that you enjoy most that will benefit you the most.
I personally love cooking. <3
