What weapons do you use in WvW ? Why?
SIC – Isle of Janthir
I use all of the weapons that we can use. Why? I don’t know, because we can and I’m a pack rat I guess /boggle.
Shield – because I like to run on into the zergs and use skill 5 to push them back. The wise players know about stability. The fools that don’t, well, end up falling over the sides of bridges, over walls, and other nasty high places.
Hammer – because I love skill 4 / Banish. As with shield I find myself giggling like a school girl when I land a successful banish. Off the unaware go to their deaths.
Normally I’m running greatsword, sword, and focus. Because that is what my build is about. I’ll also swap in mace/shield. I’m in clerics gear with according traits. No ascended gear but all exotic. Also all I do pretty much is WvWvW / solo or small groups.
Johnny Johnny – Ranger (Ehmry Bay)
Hárvey Wallbanger – Alt Warrior (Ehmry Bay)
Zerg vs Zerg (or solo vs large group): GS + Hammer
Utilities: Judge’s Intervention, WoR, Shelter / “Stand your ground”
AoE is the key.
Roaming: Hammer + 1h Sword and Shield.
Utilities: Hammer of Wisdom, Signet of Wrath, Judge’s Intervention.
Control is the key.
Quite frankly, although I don’t like staff in general, it’s very handy in wvw zerg action. Any altruistic healing build seems good enough to me. as a second hand weapond I’d recommand eitheir scepter + focus or greatsword. greatsword is awesome for solo against npcs, for taking supply camps and such. scepter is needed for catching a running theif ( I hate those), best if you are in a small group.. Either way. Knight guardians can make better tanks than p-v-t ones! good luck with your build.
