Which ascended ring?
It depends on what you typically do. Are you running in a zerg? Go offensive. Are you small group roaming? Probably a mix of both. Are you solo roaming/defending? Defensive.

Zerker is always good. I suggest to get that first and get others as you see fit.
Look at the rest of your stats. For zergs, once you hit around 30% crit chance, you may want to consider cavaliers. (toughness), or if not, knights is also a good choice. Toughness tends to be what keeps me up the most. If your HP is very low (<15k) you may want to consider soldiers, valkyrie, or celestial.
Personally, I’ve taken to using amulets to customize my stats. They have the biggest effect on stats, and also cost the least for ascended trinkets.

Berserker/Valkyrie hybrid is generally more valuable on a guardian, because it’s much easier to make up for the slight loss in crit chance through traits than it is to add extra HP to your low by default health pool.
