Guild Wars 2

I just had a valkyrie box drop for me. I’m not sure if I should open it with my thief or my guardian and what weapon to pick. Eventhough I’d rather have the stats on my thief, I only do Fractals with my Guardian while I usually just gear my Thief first because it’s my “main”. I also have 473 huntsman on my thief, so an ascended SB is not that far away.

But if I were to take it on my guardian, I’m not sure on which weapon I should pick. Greatsword seems a decent choice, but I don’t really use it THAT much on higher level fractals. I was thinking about scepter, but you only get 5 extra AR for that. And since I don’t have my second ascended accessory on this character yet, I could use the 10 AR you get from 2H weapons. Staff isn’t bad, but I usually just use it utility and nothing else.

What would you guys do?

EDIT: Also have a storm wizard skin on GS, not sure if I want to part with it :p

if you do take it on your guard, depends which weapon you find most useful. GS i think has its place in fractals. but if you dno’t use it that much, then maybe not. ://

i myself am planning to go for GS and focus (as i have legendary hammer and sword – if not these would be chocies as well) for starters. pbviously scepter and staff are useful, but i wouldn’t get ascedned for them, yet. at least not in a hurry to..

and re: the skin, you could always skin it first, and then use the splitter later on if you decide against it.

If I had nothing but exotics, i’d personally do hammer, greatsword, focus, scepter, 1h sword. Focus before scepter or 1h sword simply for the fact that a focus will be used in both of those builds so you would get more use out of that right off the bat.

since I don’t like sword that much in PvE (too low AoE and no support), I’d go with this order:
1) Hammer (melee fractal bosses)
2) Scepter/Focus (ranged fractal bosses)
3) Greatsword (trash mobs and general PvE)
4) All the others
