You should continue to play Guardian if you like how the Guardian plays and by the sounds of it you may not anymore. T

hat is the best reason for sticking with the class because I’m not going to lie to you there are other classes in the game that simple ‘out class’ us (forgive the pun) in a number of cases such as Druid being able to out heal us and Elementalists providing better party buffing.

I’ve mained Guardian since the game was released and will continue to main him on the simple fact that I realy enjoy how the class works.

Perhaps you should try mixing it up a bit? What build are you currently running? I’ll try and help come up with something that’ll give you some more ‘sustain’ and ‘diversity’

Why would anyone convince you to do something you don’t like in a game? If you don’t like guardian, quit.

Big fail on guardian is aegis. Guardian has 9 traits when boost or apply aegis but main problem is aegis itself.

Rework aegis on two step

1) Aegis block 100% first attack 2) after aegis is destroied apply new boon what will be reduce all damage for 50% on 5 sec.

or

Aegis absorb damage (2k+healing power on lvl 80) not only block first attack

if aegis gets changed in future, would be to something like it was in gw1.

Honestly, if you’re asking if you should keep playing the class then I suggest you just stop playing it. I would not blame you either, the class is almost 4 years old while the other classes are only 8 months (lets be honest here, the Guardian is a relic from when the game first came out, and if it was made when the Rev was made it would have a lot more going on).

What made you play guard in first place??

Keep playing guard because melee is where its at and for all its shortcomings, guard is still the king of melee in large scale wvw battles.

I hate stealth. I hate dropping circles on the ground instead of hitting an opponent. I don’t like switching between 4 different weapons and skill groups. I hate pew pewing and yearghhh pirating. What’s left? Guard.

Some information about what you do on guardian would be helpful. If you are just playing PvE, go play whatever you want lol.

If you’re playing WvW, there are several good reasons to play Guardian if you’re good at it. Provides great front line support, plenty of AOE for tags on enemies, plenty of blocks/invulnerability, healing. It depends on your build and how you’re set up of course.

If you’re playing PvP, no really great reason to keep playing Guardian unless you just like to sit on a point, drop traps and pull people in to them lol. Guardian in PvP is pretty boring.

WvW is full of bad range players, my mace shield with SW SoA, sometimes is really nice when against full range pew pew players, dragonhunter hate to fight my build mos tof the times, sometimes i can even push, problem is the small scale ganks :P when figthing stacked gimmick spam builds, it is a 2 seconds fight due all the offensive capabilities Anet gave them…

Btw every 1 cares what others play when reaches player vs player.

we can not talk you into playing “X” class.. Blow my mind when people post stuff like this..

play what you like, not what someone talked you into playing….

I was told guard is really good in pvp when played and used right, you basically use gs/bow, use the gs pull ability and pull them into your trap, and there is some rune that lets you stealth when you use traps as well, one of my guildies swears by that rune on his guard.
