Master of all Professions
sPvP Rank Dragon – 8 Champ Titles – Ruby Division
Hi fellow Guardians,
After the recent threads I have read on a lot of displeasure with the new updates, it seems like there a good bunch who just needs to take a breather and humor themselves for a moment and not take things seriously. Reading the other class threads, I feel as if we do not have it bad at all.

They even have some fun with their problems!
Lol those silly Necros.
You make a good point, people need to focus on the fun parts, relax and have fun.
Whe you see necromancer go around in dungeons with 10 mobs in their back, and dont die, im sure that they have fun lol.
I dislike nerfs i think classes or abilities should be buffed instead

Doesn’t work. Balance needs to go both ways to work properly. Sometimes up, sometimes down.
It’s rough when you’re used to something then it drastically changes almost forcing you to use something else. This isn’t a QQ reply but rather a breakdown of what has happened thus far.
-70% reduction in effectiveness to wrathful spirit
-100% reduction in effectiveness to SoW on the GS
-50% reduction in boon duration to SY(still keeps condition stripage)
-1st profession to receive a rearrangement of skills(most call this a significant nerf)
-Tomes effectiveness has been dropped anywhere between 50-100% depending if you’re running Hallowed ground(SYG doesn’t last long enough unless traited)
-Signet of judgement isn’t affected by traits
I’m not saying some or all of these didn’t need adjustments, just I think it could of been handled better. Again, these are massive changes to the skills/traits listed in a negative way.
I wish people would stop moaning about the reduction to Wrathful Spirit…it was a good change, since you can still have retaliation up almost the entire time during a fight. I’m still not convinced about the terribleness of the GS changes, though I will admit I don’t understand why the symbol couldn’t have been edited in a way other than increasing its downtime.
The SY nerf was for sPvP, not PvE or WvW. I don’t do much sPvP, and think the changes could have been made differently to encourage group usage, rather than being a solo skill…but ce la vie. Hopefully the devs will rethink their approach to SY (and a whole slew of other Guardian skills/traits), but for now the skill is still valuable to a boon-based setup (in sPvP, of course).
And seriously people, stop with the whole “oh noes, muscle memory!” I can understand if you’re a freakin’ pro football player who has been taught to tackle the same way since pee-wee, and now the NFL tells you otherwise. That’s a problem. Being forced to relearn a MMO weapon after a month or two is not a big deal. Stop bringing it up, it just discredits everything else you say.
No one said anything about muscle memory my friend, just a simple discussion on how things have progressed(digressed) so far. Honestly, I think retaliation should be completely removed from the game, it offers no strategy in my opinion.
Well guys, I for one take the latest nerfing of our favourite class as a compliment.
Clearly Anet thinks we can Save Ourselves!
We really are a great class. I love being a Guardian, it scratches my itch to support my allies and it even gives me Margin for Error in the form of HP and somanybarriers!
My best friend and ally in this game is a Mesmer and you should hear some of the kittenhe has to deal with.
Like, a good chunk of her traits don’t even work. Holykitteningkitten.
I love my guard, and im still using my GS… but some changes have a really bad taste, because they give me the impression that no one has thought about the other consequences of the nerf, and even the “compesantions”, give me this impression.
Im seriuos only because i like play guardian i have other 3 alts, warrior, mesmer and thief, but guards was my first love in this game.
This class need surely a balacing, but for now is in the wrong way, im not saying that we need buffs (we are plenty of them lol) but a think that the devs are targetting the wrong things.

Can’t the same thing be said for Confusion? I’ve actually read discussions over the difference between the two and the majority said Confusion is the more powerful of the two. But I haven’t seen any Confusion adjustments going on.
Why so serious? There have been lots of good suggestions mixed with QQ that just have not been listened to. No Dev response for ages. No one seems to listen.
I think if they were working to make our ranged options more effective, which is something people have been begging for, it would show they were listening. They don’t seem to be listening at all on the Symbol of Wrath issue. There were many valid suggestions to remove Retaliation and replace it with something else. They fell on deaf ears.
On a postive note the new Renewed Focus is pretty awesome. I can now use my virtues more often and more effectively.
It seems really you can’t get away from it, so many posts that missed the purpose of this thread. But there were a couple of good tries too.
^ Yeah. What a downer :\. Hope you guys have a better week! haha loosen up~
I don’t think we can Hold the Line! we may have to Retreat! unless a Judge’s Intervention happens you may have to Save Yourselves!!!!

This one gets it.
Lol, so many I don’t think read that post, I love necros, I may stop reading the Guardian forums.
