Guild Wars 2

So I’ve got a 50+ guardian and as things go, I’m liking virtues. I’m thinking of using it (and i’ve read some of the opinions on how they work, so you don’t have to tell me how bad they are) but regardless of that, I had a friend who played guardian for a while and he was full zerk gear at all times using great sword with Revenge of the Fallen.

Basically he would charge, throw chains, retaliation field then whirl, kill EVERYONE he caught with chains, then i would come in behind on thief and finisher everyone while he got into a 50/50 battle with whoever was left (usually i found him on the ground beating the crap out of people from his back, rallying over and over again).

In any event, were we just lucky (all the time) or is this a real thing?

Also, what are your strange moments with the guardian class?

it depends on the people you are fighting, the skill of the players, and the builds, for the most part, guardians get wrecked by warriors, just because they do everything better than us.. apart from the mass boons…

Strangest/funniest moment was when I was in the middle of a fight on North west tower’s ramp and was trying to banish a guy off the cliff for a quick kill. An elementalist that was running with us used magnetic grasp in earth attunement and was jumping to him as I banished him off. On my screen I see the enemy fly off the cliff and start to drop, then the elementalist flew over my head from out of my sight range since he was ‘attached’ to him with magnetic grasp.

It was my first case of friendly fire in this game =D

Ha, that’s hilarious. I guess Anet didn’t put in a max range on the second part.

one haha-did-not-expect-that / funny moment for me was while capping a sentry point and another Guard happened to be there with me. a couple enemies jump us and battle ensues. at one point , the other Guard had casted binding blades, and shortly after, i hammer banished one enemy away and as he was flying, the other Guard activates the pull on the GS. you can imagine what happened next.

so you see the red name fly away, then zips right back, his mangled body jerking uncontrollably, and landed at our feet downed. XDDD couldn’t have timed that any better.
