Q:

I am having trouble deciding on what jewelry to go with for my exotic set. My armor is the Cleric’s set with a Rune of the Water, so I’m focusing largely on healing power.

My build for now is based on the greatsword, taking the 2H cd reduction and heal on ability use, which is why I’ve gone for healing power. This is the build: http://gw2.luna-atra.fr/skills_tool/?lang=en&code=3a70009cmf8nho9fcdu0kk06g737e7ki0i5ih . This is mostly for PvE.

I’m thinking either Chrysocola Jewelry(http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/8106-chrysocola-orichalcum-amulet), which will give me a little more health and also make my burns hurt a little more, or sapphire(http://www.gw2db.com/recipes/8107-sapphire-orichalcum-amulet), which keeps in line with my current healing. I just think my healing is largely going to become less effective if I don’t get more health.

Thoughts?

If your healing is going to be less effective because you’re constantly bumping into full health, then it sounds like you’ve got too much survivability. Having more health won’t change that.

I think the solution is to either play more aggressively (choose more or harder targets) or to pull some gear away from +healing in favor of +pow/cond/prec

I am not worried about constantly bumping up to full health. I just don’t think I need more healing power in the build because as it stands, I need to go down to 10% hp in order to get the full amount of my heal. If I bump up my vitality, I feel like it’s going to give me more options as to when I should pop that main heal.

You make a good point though. I definitely don’t feel like I’m lacking in offensive strength now, but I am thinking the way I should go forward may be to stop stacking survivability in favor of some increased damage.
