WvW Roamer/Havoc Build Help (Shouts)
Hi, i made this changes: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQJARWlsApVo1CxeI8DNRCBlVNw+DPPFXfhAcAA-T1CEABJcBAIS5HMqD0iKMdqyQI6CC18XS7PAwhA4AlgP8EAIDAzYA-w
I know that some of this changes are expensive like energy runes or Bowl of lemongrass poultry soup but in my opinion are a must for the WvW roaming.
For small scale btw i prefer the healway spec like this one :

in our havoc guild our two support guardians run this:
The third utility can change alot however by default we run wall of reflection, sometimes ill run signet of justice if im feeling a bit selfish and fancy an extra stunbreak instead of the wall
and hey team psy o/ you still roaming in vabbi?

Personally a much bigger fan of this stat spread.
I’m not a huge fan of vitality gear, as I feel it doesn’t offer the sustain AND group support of adding a bit more healing power. You shouldn’t need to stack vit anyway, seeing as the high armor copes with burst, and food/runes cope with conditions.
The big pro of zealot’s gear is that it’s power primary. The main problem with zealot’s gear is that there are no zealot’s trinkets (as of yet) and the armor recipes are expensive as hell (we’re talking 40g per piece). But if you have disposable gold, go for it… then season with accessories to flavor.

I realize you are asking about shouts in specific but you also asked about “getting into long drawn out fights where you slowly die” and the simple answer is, very poor dps and entirely group based recovery.
As a since launch roamer I’m here to tell you if you want to really be successful you really must kill whatever your target is as fast as possible. Against a good roamer being tanky just means you take longer to kill off, you aren’t dangerous, just tedious.
Altruistic healing is vastly more useful in groups where you can aoe cap your boon application. Where in a group each boon you apply heals you for 370, roaming it only heals for 74 which is awfully poor to try and sustain you against roaming builds.
My advice, learn to play meditation guardian if you want to roam. Medis give you the mobility, condi clear and recovery to be very dangerous to any opponent. Over all its a much more sable platform for roaming than shouts. There is a reason why tier 1 guardian streamers are generally playing some form of medi guardian.

I noticed you have carrion weapons and dire gloves. The condition aspect of these weapons is in my opinion, largely wasted. You only have 2 conditions and burning benefits relatively less from condition damage than other conditions. Plus are you procing your sigils enough with only 18% precision? They are on a 5 second cooldown and are a 50% chance. You could replace these with knight’s, clerics or other armor.
If you feel you die too easily, change some traits or gear. Aside from the condition items, perhaps add a Sigil of Energy (quite expensive atm) to one or both of your weapons. If conditions are giving you trouble, drop strength in numbers and add purity. Run Signet of Judgement for less incoming damage, a boon/debuff which heals you with your AH train and a 2nd stun breaker. (Your last utility and 1st adept trait in the virtues line can be swapped around depending upon the situation and the group.)
It is possible that you are running with thieves, mesmers, eles and warriors who all all more mobile and run away easily to recharge (and a ranger who stands 1500 yards away and goes plink with his bow). So you are the one who gets focused. The healway build is one option which you can tinker with. You will do less damage and but it will help you survive more. With selfless daring and cleric weapons, your dodge heals will do more.
In the end, you only win half the time against equally matched opponents. Maybe you are running more often against highly skilled havoc groups or more experienced players.
