Hey Im looking for some constructive criticism on my Medi Build, which is mean to be a WvW Build…

The thing is…i know some of you may want to make some preference changes but that only lead me to “Your playstyle”….i would prefer you to change what it need to be change, not just adjust it to yourself, but if you have to…pls argue why xD.

Note: I Like Guardians but only when using GS/Scepter/Focus/Sword and maybe Hammer….i hate those Frontliner builds but also hate being so squishy full Meditation Glass build.

Yah i know….its kind of weird…. =/ happens to me in everysingle game….i always want to be the Gladiator that can hold few enemies and yet deal some nice damage while having enough movility to get in and get out….which is impossible xD

I use a similar Medi build for my guardian and have had a great deal of success with it. Some may question the traveler’s runes but for roaming, it’s what I tend to use as well.

One thing that does catch my attention is your low crit% at only 28%. What I’ve always tried to do is have a minimum armor of 2800, and my crit near 40%. Personally, I would change a few items over to knights gear (P,T,P) and use a maintenance oil for the extra crit buff.

If you would consider something different than the Medi that is so popular right now, I highly recommend you take a look at the video below. This build plays like a Medi but has a crap-ton of regen and sustain while dealing out crazy damage. Even with a full exotic set, you can do some nasty damage while roaming. I’ve been testing this the last few days and while it does lack in mobility (I use the staff to move around), it’s really fun to troll folks with.

Inner fire is kind of a waste, you cannot predict when you will be on fire all that well (except for a few dungeon paths)

For the last 2 traits you could grab zealot’s speed & fiery wrath or zealots speed & inspired virtue.

This build will have more consistent condition removal (not as much at once), more support & more damage then your previous build. The survivability is more or less the same.

There is nothing really wrong with the build, however there are some slight tweaks I’d recommend.

I’d drop one out of Radiance and put it into Honor. Inner Fire is a solid trait, however it’s a very situational trait. You’re also using Focused Mind, so your Fury upkeep will be high regardless. Putting one into Honor will give you the much needed Vigor for more survivability.

Your Virtues traits are somewhat odd. Retaliatory Subconscious is a subpar trait and I’d never recommend using it, especially on a medi build. Vengeful or Unscathed Contender would be much more beneficial.

Indomitable Courage is also a very solid trait, however I’d recommend Absolute Resolution for roaming. A great deal of roaming classes are very condi heavy in the current meta, so it helps to have the extra clears.

When it comes to dps and sigils, you generally want at least one double proc. What do I mean by double proc? Using both Fire and Air on the same weapon, this greatly increases dps output.

Lastly, Traveler is a great rune set, however for this I’d lean more towards Pack for a number of reasons. More power and precision. You’ll have to give up the movement bonus, however Pack as the apply to grant swiftness, so it makes up for it somewhat.

Wow! all the three of you made some awesomes critics and advices, this is nice since somehow you all are still trying to adjust the changes for what i really want! which is what im looking for, gonna check carefull everysingle advice/build.

MMmm really nice Tweaks Harbinger.8637 somehow its the same build but with more power and even more utility to survive, i really like it. thx mate im pretty sure this is what im gonna be running now.

But also….The Build that FinalPatriot.8034 posted seems really nice i mean idk if its because the guy of the video really know how to sell it or what, but i would like to try that out….the only problem is….it doesnt look like a meta build (Afraid? yah but i prefer to work around what works the most for guardians there is a reason why its called meta i guess) and also its acended Build =/ im not experienced enough with guardians builds to try out with my FIRST Acended items a new and kind of nice build out of the meta =/? Anyone else got experience with this build? made it work somehow close with exotics items? Any recommends about that build?

Oh, it’s far from the meta and I would NOT recommend you go with this for your ascended set FIRST. I should explain that a bit -

What I always do in a new build is test a variant of it in sPvP so I can get more familiar with the play style and how it “feels.” I’d suggest you try all of the ones you like in PvP a bit and see how you like them and if they fit for how you like to play the class. Obviously there will be some differences between PvP and WvW but you can get a pretty good idea how they work. For the Legendary Build, I’d go with the Soldier runes because they give you the shout bonus as well.

Oh, and about the meta, I’m a person that will shy away from the concept simply because I don’t like to do what everyone else is doing. For one, it’s too predictable to those you face and two, I just like being more unique.
