after using the same old AH build ever since i hit lvl 80, after 400 hours later i decide that i am kitten bored of it and want to try something different.
beside from shout build guardian actually have quite a lot of variety utilites like consecration, spirit weapons, signet and meditation. now i mainly do wvw and i dont think ive ever seen a signet or spirit weapons build for wvw, consecrations are too support focus and i want to deal a lot of damage so naturally it has to be meditation
so here is my build atm: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUAQRAsd7elUgSDHHyNEfIFRuArHC8g+DXw1DI6wGC-jEyAYrBRTWCERI0JwioxW1KiGr2GT7OEZVMKA-w
it has A TON of crit chance and crit dmg however very low health even for guardian standard. although if you are being careful you wont die too easily since each mediation heals for 2k hp
i have used this build from large zerg vs zerg to mid size battles to roaming and it worked pretty well. you just have and know when to use scepter, when to use sword
any mediation guard experts out there please feel free to improve this build as this is literally the first time i ever used mediations (shouts too stronk)

that’s your typical meditation / DPS setuup with the added functionality/survivability with 5 in Honor and 5 in Virtues. : )) and it seems like you’re set as is!

usually, i don’t run Contemplation of Purity unless if i know i’ll be playing against the same groups for a while and they’re condition heavy. previously, i slotted Stand Your Ground, to i can secure stomps faster. and recently, i’ev been experimenting with Bane Signet – added power, as well as a near instant knockdown which is helpful for chasing down fleers, stoppnig a stomp, or to land your big hits! though, again, CoP is actually a very strong skill (mini heal, convertsa bunch of conditions, as well as a stun break).

and even though with 30 in Radiance you kinda feel like you should pick up RHS and go one-handed, i’ve recently tried going back to hammer and GS with meditations and it’s pretty fun too. : )) i then took Signet of Resolve as well and traited for Signets in the Radiance line. still testing it out, but so far so good!

you can try out the torch too if you like! i used to go sword/focus + scepter/torch in sPvP. though in geenral most people go sword torch and then scepter focus. if you time your burst with Shield of Wrath (Focus 5), JI to your target, scepter immob them, then use Zealot’s Flame + Fire (SoW should go off here), it does a LOT of damage. follow up with Zealot’s Defense if you need.

and like you said, even in ZvZ, it holds up well! i used to play AH as well and haven’t touched it in a while now. lol

I like meditation build a lot too, but for WvW I would do 0/25/30/10/2. The reason for that is that you need “Stand your ground” in WvW, stability is the best skill for stumps and to not get your kitten wiped on a zerg without change to react.

Guardian is my alt, so I’m far from a Guardian expert, but to me Purity doesn’t make sense in this build. 2 of your utility skills rely on having conditions to purge in order to be effective, so isn’t removing them with Purity counter intuitive?

My thinking is you have enough condition removal with those utilities and they get extra effects when you use them, so the trait could be better spent elsewhere. IV, VI, and IX all seem like decent options.

CoP is a sick utility to keep on your bar not just for the condition cure / reversal, but as mentioned above it’s a stun breaker, will heal you since it’s a meditation skill, and in general is a good ‘oh kitten’ skill for when a ton of conditions get dumped on you at once (something that can happen easily in wvw.) I will say that since you have such a decently high toughness you should change out purity for retributive armor; it’ll give you a few extra crit chance % to work with.
