Hey guys, I’m here with a WvW roamer build.
My build is a hybrid DPS/bunk build. It’s supposed to be able to lay the pressure on a single target our small groups of targets while getting support from party members (bunk/support guardian and staff elementalist).

Here’s the link: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAR8dlsApcoVDxbI8DNR8QVVAgdSEFV61/QQkDA-TlSBAB6pbwSVcCc/BuUqYmSwrUWhp6BL8AA04iAAwRAIAACwNvZ2sNDG6QH6QH6QboDdoDdoDtUACqMC-w

As you can see it’s a meditation build. That means it’s a selfish build that doesn’t really offer a lot of support to the team. That’s okay though, because someone else in my standard roaming party already took that role (a hammer support/bunker guardian). However, in cases when I get separated from my party or when we get outnumbered I want to be able to take some hits and survive. The bunk/support guardian in my team is new to GW2 so I don’t want to solely rely on him for my survivability, hence I threw in some toughness and vitality in there to buff up my guard and made him hybrid.
I also tried solo-ing on this build, with mixed results. I feel that I lack the burst to take down annoying ranged enemies who just keep kiting my guardian. I’m not sure if this is due to my lack of skill in dealing with these opponents or due to my build keeping me back. What do you guys think?

I usually trait heavy into sw/f with 2/6/6/0/0. I find that going all in on dps, especially when I’m not relied on for support, I have more success than splitting resources. I can focus on putting pressure on with sw/f and time my gs burst with my team.

And if you can get some swiftness from your team or stack it prior to fights, runes of the pack give a great dps boost (175 power/125 precision) along with ~50% uptime on fury and swiftness. Fire/air sigils on sw/f for even more pressure.

EDIT:
Based on your suggestions, I altered my build and went 6 points into Radiance. Please check it out and let me know what you think: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fVAQNAR8dlsApcoVDxbI8DNR8gY9nWbqKw1/CmD-ThCBAB7pb4SVcEa/huUqcmSQJOCAYpsCgLCQmqHwwDAIAACwNvZ2sNDO6RP6RP6R7oH9oH9oHtUAMpMC-e

While I can see where you’re coming from, I feel that I give up a lot of defense if I go 6 into Radiance instead of 6 into Honor, for probably only a bit more DPS. Let’s take a look:

What I give up:
- 5000 HP health
- 100 power (from the sharpening stones that scales off toughness and vitality)
- getting vigor when I crit, allowing me to dodge more often
- dodge heals, which heal me for 465 HP per dodge
- Aegis heal which heals me for 779 HP on aegis removal
- 300 healing power, which isn’t really noteworthy to me but still
- 20% cooldown reduction on my greatsword, my main weapon of choice
- 10% extra damage when endurance is not full (pretty much always)

What I get in return:
- roughly 15% extra crit chance, 30% extra crit chance for 1h sword
- 300 extra condition damage, which isn’t really noteworthy imo
- blind when activating virtue of justice
- 5 stacks of vulnerability when blinding a foe, which is super nice
- renewing virtue of justice when killing a foe
- 10% extra damage for 1h sword, which is obviously nice
- 10% extra damage on foes with conditions, which is also very nice

Okay, so I can see now how going 6 in Radiance will obviously improve my DPS, but I’m gonna have to learn to rely on my 1h sword for the most DPS. Personally I’m more of a greatsword kind of guy. I do feel though that I’m giving up A LOT of defenses if I’d go for 6 in Radiance.
