That’s what I’ve been running. It feels good, but anything can “feel” good. I would appreciate advice on the setup.

I’ve run this in wvw, and pve. I don’t really do dungeons because I mostly wvw/pvp (typically run bunker).

Anyway the id cheap and it seems to be effective but again I would appreciate any insight you guys have. Feel free to change around anything in it. Only things I would ask is please try to take into account I’m on limited options for gold (I spend most of it upgrading stuff in wvw), and I would like to either use 1hs+focus, or 2hs.

Thank you for looking over it, and any suggestions.

Good stats selection, has a lot of damage potential for the amount of armor it runs. I would consider something other than Generosity sigils though as the price is prohibitive.

Since your crit damage and power are pretty good, I would consider getting a burst set together for your WvW endeavors. That’d be Mace+Focus/Hammer. Chain Protector’s Strike/Shield of Wrath with Mighty Blow for an enormous burst if you land crits. I’d also consider sticking a Sigil of Endurance in there to compensate for your lack of vigor.

I’d also consider a dedicated rune set. Even though your crit damage is high with Beryl orbs, a rack of Citadel runes +1 orb in the head slot would net you a long fury uptime plus more base power which will increase your critical and noncritical damage. I’ve been a huge fan of Citadel recently; it’s cheap and insanely effective.

With Fury and precision consumables your critical chance will be 91%.

Thank you for the suggestions. Yeah with the price on those sigils it’s so much cheaper to just replace the sword.

I will certainly try that out.

i’ve yet to personally try Citadel runes but i’ve heard so many good thnigs about them recently. ; )) you would go below 13k HP though.

if that’s the case, and only if you feel you need some extra sustainability, might i suggest taking 10 our of Zeal and putting 5 into Virtues and 5 into Honor? you do lose Power as well as a huge damage modifier but you do get Vigor (since Energy sigils are like 3-4g a pop last time i checked) which can be invaluable. As well as some added utility on your virtues.

though of course, by all means go with what you have now, and only change up the traits if you feel you need more sustain, or know you’re going to be in some bigger fights.

with your setup, it’s easy to switch our either combo for the GS as well. and definitely try out foofad’s combo of mace/focus + hammer. extremely fun. : ))

i love your build and i find it extremely fun to play in WvW as well as PvP.

I have another question, if I were to try and convert this to a GS build would that be possible. I ask because I can augment my lower survivability stats by using a focus for the block. In a fight I usually sword 2 for the blind, then aegis blocks, then I activate focus 5 for the 3 blocks and aoe damage, then usually sword 2 is up again if not I use f1 blind. Then either sword 2 is back up, or focus 4 for the blind + regen depending on how much damage I’ve taken. If they try to run I can use JI to catch them+deal damage+ heal. It’s a series of blinds and blocks to reduce damage I take. It works out o.k. in smaller scale fights. Admittedly I have so much trouble with certain classes. I’m horrible against x/p thieves because of their near constant blind. Between us we end up blinding the hell out of each other. Just an example, I’m fairly certain it’s a l2p issue on my end. I’ve found improvement comes if I never go “kitten that guy was OP” and instead go “o.k. what could I have done better to win” it’s what got me far in LoL.

Anyway my only experience with a GS build comes from when I used to run an AH build awhile back. It didn’t seem to do enough damage to really win in small scale fights. I could avoid getting killed, but that was about it for me. I’ve seen others post their GS builds and to be honest they have to be way more skilled than I am.

Anyway if you guys could give me some advice on a good GS build that maybe utilizes monks focus it would be great. I realize that’s probably a bit of trouble though.

the GS + Sword/Focus + Monk’s Focus/Meditations is a very decent build.
the symbol, retal and AoE cleave from the GS will help a lot against thieves. admittedly, it’s tough against their blinds but binding blades works extremely well with thieves who like to stealth as well. even when stealthed, the projectile will still hit them and you can pull ’em in.

so i’d say you can stick with the same build. of if you want, another standard build many people still like is 0/15/30/20/5 or sth along those lines and you can pick up a few traits in Honor to help the GS. though recently i still prefer the build you’re running currently and translate well with the GS from my point of view.

great attitude as well. when i get my butt kicked, i try and figure out what i did wrong, waht they did well as well and that’s the best way to learn i feel.
