Hey guys,

So I know I want to run GS/Sword and focus for solo roaming (might switch sword focus out for hammer)…but what I want to know is what armor/weapon stats I should use in order to take hits and take down enemies. I was thinking berserker stats on the weapons with a sigil of air and maybe a healing sigil (not sure what the best healing sigil is so suggestions are welcome), and maybe knights or soldiers armor (sigil for armor suggestions are also welcome), and maybe soldier’s or berserker trinkets. Any other suggestions for armor and weapon stats?

Also, the reason why I am asking is because I’m starting my ascended crafting soon and I understand that you basically invest your life into crafting these things with all the money, so I want to make sure I’m going to have the correct gear for roaming and being able to hold my own against a small group.

Zerker, zerker zerker zerker.

If you plan to deal direct damage go zerker if you want to be bulky go condi. Nine times out of ten it will be better for you to use downed team mates as bait and dps down anything trying to spike, and you wont be scarring anyone with your dps if you are wearing knights or …. soldiers.

My motto is, its not armor if it doesn’t have Ferocity on it!

I wouldn’t go full zerker guardian in any wvw focused build. Knights loses critical damage but you get toughness in return – you might try mixing zealot with knight to see if the healing and toughness work well for you – you’ll still retain high precision and decent crits and you’ll live a lot longer.

Ascended armor is a great investment (I’m making my 3rd set) but you really should be sure of what you want when you make it. My advice would be to level your crafting, begin making your Damask and Deldrimor every day, but in the mean time, experiment with exotics until you know what you really want.

i have a good build which uses celestial armor and others prefixes too. It is a bit of do it all guardian, you can take hits and also have enough regen to get the health back in few seconds. Enough damage to take out people and really good 1vX potential.
Also great team support cause of the shouts and dodge heals.

Now, it’s pretty hard to get (and expensive!) but one thing you might want to consider is the Zealot’s gear. It’s Power, precision, healing power, and depending on your build you can get a LOT of mileage out of that healing. I’d toss in some different trinkets to augment your ferocity to keep up the damage, and maybe take Force of Will (GM trait, 4th line) to augment your vitality. With a bit of tweaking I definitely think Zealot’s is extremely viable.

Please ignore this if your goal is the highest DPS and you don’t plan on hybridizing into some support weapons/traits.
