balanced changes?
Agreed, and especially on the ranged field. In trade for my survivability i do not only want homing scepter #1, but also a severe damage increase. I had a short wishlist and it didn’t change much.
- Scepter #1 homing + 20% more damage
- Scepter #2 changed into symbol
- Focus #4 +50% damage
- Focus #5 cooldown reduced by 15 seconds
- Shield #4 +200% damage & changed to single target, 1200 range. Boon granted in a line and duration increased to 8 seconds.
- Staff #1 +20% damage, range increased to 900, cone narrowed a bit.
- Staff #2 Detonate removed, damage increased initially by 20% and pushed heal on orb of light passing trough allies. Cooldown increased to 6 seconds.
Even without the indirect nerfs at all, we still deserve a scepter attack that hits it target….

I like the idea someone else posted about longbow for guardians. I’d take that gladly as a 2h weapon. Essentially, anything except scepter. ANET could definitely stand to take another look at including some alternate weapon sets for many classes. Pistol main hand for mesmers, longbow for guardians, etc. Scepter seems to be a low quality weapon for multiple classes at this point. I’d actually like to see 1h sword get a symbol for guardians.
