Making this because the other thread is pretty much only about PvE builds. Which is fine, but for people like me that are more interested in pvp/wvw builds it isn’t very informative. It seems that almost anything will work in pve to be honest. That isn’t a jab at pve players, it’s just how I feel. Pvp/wvw builds tend to be more focused in their approach, and goal.

I run a burst heavy build, and so fr you lose to much on the ttk it won’t work. If someone wants to look at a similar build a 0/30/30/5/5 rhs/meditation build. I’m interested in seeing how the

I’ve been running this build for the past week, I think it’s the strongest of all the builds i’ve tried. Strongest for Me at least. I use soldier amulet with celestial jewel, Divinity runes.

Hmmm, PvE/WvW can go hand and hand really, especially depending on the situation you’re in. The build I use for example is for both.

PvP on the other hand is a whole different ball game, but I wouldn’t put PvP and WvW together at all.

It depends on how you play wvw. WvW is a version of PvE. The main point behind it is to get a higher score, which is achieved through PvE objectives. The PvP part of WvW is purely incidental.

I play it more along the lines of finding people and killing them. So my build is very similar to an spvp build.

Take the 15 point radiance trait. In PvE that is awesome, your VoJ is refreshed every kill. In PvP it’s useless though because you will not get the resets to make it worth while. Another example is the trait you get that gives you fury when you are set on fire. I have no idea how useful it is in PvE, but in PvP it’s amazing when you consider the amount of professions that inflict burning passively. It’s a different setup if your target is an npc, or a player. That’s why I linked the WvW/PvP. I could have specified and said “WvW roaming/dueling” but yeah.

To the topic I’ve tried so many builds now but nothing seems to come close to that 0/30/30/5/5 build. It’s just so kitten strong. A single aa chain on heavy armor is doing a quarter of their life. That’s the one I’m trying to figure out if celestial will work in. Right now I’m capable of taking 2/3 v 1 and winning. If anyone has any luck with it I would like to see the build to try it out.

As for armor the loss in power brings me way too low, in exchange for a little more health (already running close to 16k), and a gain in armor that is almost entirely useless to begin with.

I’m more interested in actual experience because on paper some builds shouldn’t be able to do the damage they can, while others look amazing and then just somehow don’t preform.

15 radiance has its use sometimes. VoJ blind when stomping some professions, and it gets refreshed when the stomp is done. But in reality most times it’s on cooldown, but it’s very satisfying if you manage to do this little trick.

do you mean the other “What to do with Celestial stats” thread? if you look at the people in there, most of them in fact do WvW. well, i can be sure that a handful of them at least are thinking only for WvW. i wouldn’t even consider Celestial for PvE.

re: PvP vs WvW, i agree it’s seeking people to kill but the objectives are quite different as well. WvW you can go wherever you want, sPvP to a certain degree, you are called to be in one spot (node capture), though again depending on your role. seeing your build, i assume you’re just out to kill people so like you said, depends on what you’r set out to do. ; )))

and with THAT being said, i personally don’t think celestial will work for burst builds. for the exact reasons you stated yourself – the huge huge loss in power. i feel it’s more suited to add some crit chance and mainly crit damage to builds that focus on other areas, that may not have access to those crit ratings to start with. so if you’re stickign with 0/30/30/5/5, which i love as well, you’re better off not taking celestial.

haven’t been able to “theorycraft” as much lately, but i want to say celestial might work on some hybrid builds best by adding crit ratings to them. or adding a small boost to condition damage or healing power to other builds. agreed about on the field vs on paper! stats shouldn’t be everything, but at this point, i don’t think anyone can field test celestial gear yet, least not a full set. ://

I would give examples but you know plenty of them because you are one of those kick kitten guardians I enjoy reading posts from.

Mostly I was just curious if anyone had managed to create a sort of burst build utilizing these stats. I honestly don’t even know if Guardians can use these stats effectively. I know there is a necro build that does, and that there is a thief build, ranger etc.

ahh, i never meant to imply that you meant other Guards in that thread were bad. apologies on that front. ; )) i guess i was approaching that thread from a WvW standpoint and tbh, i haven’t had as MUCH time to spend theorycrafting or even playing the game as much as i used to or like. so i might have missed a few things here and there. see and that’s one of the things too, i feel it may be difficult for celestial gear to fulfill what we can already find with other gear sets available. in turn, leading towards builds we know may be effective for PvE or even WvW. though i will still keep testing and eventually when we can actually gear ourseleves in them, get some actual field testing in. i’m still hoping to be able to come up with efficient, viable and most importanly fun builds using celestials. though heh, it seems to be quite tough at the moment, or my brain’s just not working lol.

i think they’ll definitely work for us. just to what degree is what i’m tryign to explore.

i do want to say if there was a burst build using a good portion of celestial, i’d be very interested in know what that was. again, the loss of power (which is easily one of the greatest damage sources we have) is too much. yea i heard some necro builds and rangers could utilize ’em quite well. keep those wheels turning!

i donno how you do it, Brutaly. one might argue 12s is too long to build up just for burst, but this sounds almost too intriguing. heh will be looking forward to hearing more about it.

I thought it was obvious why it takes 12s to build the burst compared to my ber/pvt/valk that has that burst right off the bat, but apparently not. LOL.

The only interest i got in celestials are infact that it might open up for more builds. I will post a 10k burst build i used in wvw with 5 celestial pieces that corresponds, statwise, to the build i mentioned above but it will be in “my” celestial thread and not for you exclusively.
