dragonhunter setup is a joke
Can’t stand the new virtues either.
I also agree that the new virtues are a downgrade compared to their original ones. They are also not affected by most of the traits affecting virtues.
I don’t really have anything to say abour Spear of Justice, I think it is quite a fun skill to use.
The current status of Wings of Resolve and Shield (?) of Courage however is in my opinion quite bad, they both are a downgrade compared to their Virtue counterparts. Both their effects should be instant, currently their effects are just clunky.
Not to mention 2 of the minors are basically focused around using the longbow. What if I like traps but don’t want to use the bow? That kind of junk needs to be put in the selectable traits, while minors should be usable by all builds.

agree 100%

see that right there is the problem you like spear of justice and stuck with two you don’t like so do you pick one set with only one you find useful or just give it up to keep 3 that are all useful
Downgrade? the new virtues are the best about the dragon hunter by far, aoe aegis is nice and all, but to block eveything for a few seconds as an aoe? awsome! just f2 will need some time to get used to tho.
They are more a side-grade. More useful than your Old virtues in some scenarios, useless in others.

cast time may screw them over in pvp, but im only there for my dailys so

Shield of courage only destroys projectiles ir doesnt work against melee or close range atacks.

“Who cares about actual profession mechanic effectiveness! They aren’t necessary for dailies!”

And I think that’s the best balance we could have hoped for … because if they were low or high grade compared to vanilla virtues, we know what would happen.
Is that what we have? I’m not sure. My first impression was that for something locked in by the choice to trait DH, they weren’t too impressive; unfortunately after playing DH, I don’t think it hits the mark when virtue changes are included.
Put it this way; I haven’t found an incentive to actually use DH in a build. I have yet to find a build using DH that I can’t do better or as well with vanilla. I’m speaking only from a PVE perspective for now. Between the new traits, LBow, traps and the changed virtues, I’m always coming back to my current build for PVE.
I hope the PVP guys get some more mileage from DH because I think that’s really the targeted audience for this elite spec.
I liked the dragonhunter it has a really good feel to it and the only thing bad is the #5 skill seems slow on cooldown really slow. Other then that I found the large AOE side of it to be really fun with the added burn from the Zeal line and then went Virtues or would switch to Honor and go full out large area AOE support running Carrion with monk runes and some minor healing helped out for many in the areas large combat was going on.
