All guardians know it, our range skills are “meh” for a magic/heavy class. as a long time player for guardian(played one in beta) i love the fact that we can kite like theres no tomorrow and slowly kill or burst, but when kiting with range are skills suck a little. every class has range, imo we have the worst, some-what slow moving balls that you can see coming and step out of the way like nothing, or a wave attack that you could move away from and then range us down. i know theres a butt load of forms talking about this but what i want to know is what would you pick for our range? all im asking for are some ideas on range attacks for guardian.

just listing what i’ve tried myself, and especially in cases of kiting. i feel like this is all stuff you already know though lol but i’ll share regardless.

Scepter – i like to #3, and then drop #2 and then just spam #1. tough to use if your enemy is extremely mobile or not susceptible to snares. sadly, best against stationary targets. so good for certain bosses, etc i guess

Staff – i’ve grown to like this more. especially useful against mobs since the #1 is a decent AoE. some crits and deo decent dmg. #2 after it was sped up, it’s a little nicer now. #5 is obviosu to keep enemies at bay and i like to lay down #3 right after the wall so the mobs will be stuck, taking some dmg for a little bit. with #1, sure it’s range is short and although i’m kiting, i’m not running away but rather circle strafing while spamming #1 and dodging when i need to to ensure my hits land.

Torch – tbh, i haven’t use this in a long time, but if specced for high crit, i can imagine #4 fire throwing can do decent dmg. just gotta wait for CD. and #5 i had SO MUCH fun with

Tome of Wrath – self explnatory, but the obvious downside is you lose out on all your normal utilities and skills. that being said though, i’ve been able to push enemies back using this. the quickness boost is always nice to have, especially with allies around you. and just looks kewl.

so for me usually? i run hammer or GS/ staff so my staff is probs my first pick. and then ToW is usuaully slotted just for fun. unless if i know a good fight is coming up and i’ll swap out my ranged for RF.
