Gate of Madness – Fringe of Society
There is a lot of information on the guardian forum. Most of us are going to be partial towards Guardian.
Is there a specific question you had that you couldn’t find an answer to on the forums?
Group Stability is a hell of a Drug – Rick James

In general Guardian can’t out dps warrior. If you mostly focus on pve, I would say get a warrior, since the current pve meta is dps. A lot of group would kick a guardian for a warrior in dungeons.
However, if you want to do a little bit of everything you can’t go wrong with a Guardian. They are good in both pve, pvp, and wvw. I won’t consider them the best of anything, but they are within the top 3 profession for everything.
It also depends on your play style. Warrior is more of in your face dps type, where as Guardian get the effectiveness with buffs and utilities.

Which dungeon beside CoF P1?

i’d reckon both are wanted if you’re talking dungeons in PvE. WvW they’re wanetd as well. i’ve spent most of my gw2 career as a Guardian and always will. have a lowbie Warriro who i plan to slowly level up, but will still be sticking with my Guard. from what i’ve seen my Warriro friends do, both can be great front-line melee and do different things but all very fun.
go make both and try ’em out to at lesat lvl 30+. 60 si when you can start getting into traits and really find a defining build for you. but even having been at 80 for long, i keep finetunign old builds, coming up with new ones for my Guard and rediscovernig my love for certain weapons and finding uses for other skills. extremely versatile and i neer feel pigeonholed into playing one role, or one build.

Both, you can’t go wrong with either. If I were you I’d level both to 80 then make a decision on which one you want to make your main.
Don’t rush through the game.

You have to be a pretty bad guard to get kicked out of a group. Even CoF P1, you are talking like maybe 3-4 mins longer per run and with the new changes that just came, it’s a moot point now.
Am I legendary yet!?
Guardian if you want more options to stay alive and defend your allies.
Warriors if you want as many ways to kill as possible and big damage.

Well it certainly happens to me a few times. Granted it doesn’t happen often, and its in a pug situation. It can’t really be a skill thing since I have never group with them, and they kicked me even before we got into the instance. Perhaps some people are just kitten. Of course some people would kick another class for me as well, so a Guardian definitely is not the bottom, but it certainly is not the top.
This is a good thing by the way. If you are the top, the nerf bat is always aim at you.
So choose a warrior if you want to do dps in pve. Choose a guardian if you want to so a bit of everything.
Like many have said it depends on what you want to do. But this is from my own experiences playing both my guard and war (both 80s full geared with multiple armor sets).
For Dungeons groups (not always but more often than not for pugs)
Dps War > Guard
Groups usually want 1 guard but for doubling up on class I’d rather bring an extra war. Picky speed groups will generally want a high dps war over a high dps guard but either is viable in groups.
Raw dmg (varies on build)
War > Guard
Survivability (where surviving is more important than dps)
Guard > War
Group Support (varies on build but in terms of variety/options)
Guard > War
You can’t go wrong with either both are fun and great in their own ways and both have downsides, I would say make both and go to the heart of the mists try them both out since you will have access to all weapons/skills then choose.
Both are good. Guardians are very popular for dungeons outside of COF p1 and very highly in demand for fractals. Both are solid in WvW. Just go for the one which interests you more, they’re both powerful classes.
