been trying figure out how to beat hammer warr and gs/bow warr but no luck..

where should i start..

hammer warr, with their OP stuns and knockdowns..

gs/bow warr, to OP hundred blades and then pressures you down with combustive shot and blah blah blah…

i tried dps healing/retaliation build no luck

tried pure zerker still no luck..

now my medi build (0/6/6/2/0) is showing a lil bit of “luck” since there are times when i was able to down him. but it took a long while and i had to be very careful.

i noticed that warriors with this kind of build can easily take down guards.. but guards….

is it me or warrs are just to OP and needs nerfing..

any tips regarding this one?

Zerker guard can usually be effective against warriors, provided you’re quick with active defenses

Hammer warrior: Make sure you have good access to stability and/or stunbreakers. Hammer skills are very clearly telegraphed and the combos are quite easy to predict once you’ve fought them a few times – so timing dodges can mitigate a ton of damage.

GS/Bow: hundred blades is only a problem if you take it to the face – dodge behind him and unload your damage while he’s standing there like a lemon. Bow can be tricky to counter if he decides to kite you, so either try speed runes or scepter to get in close and maintain some pressure of your own.

Don’t stand in combustive shot’s area of effect.

Blind is your friend.

You haven’t mentioned what weapons you prefer using. Sword 3 can absorb projectiles in a tight spot.

woops! sorry! i forgot to mention the types of weapon that i use.

i use greatsword with energy sigil and sigil of accuracy ( just wanna hit 70%+ of crit chance ) sword and focus with sigil of energy and sigil of fire. i also swap sword with scepter but i feel like scepter really doesn’t do that much damage.

With this set up up should manage
With full meditation you should be safe with 2 stun break
Use blind as many as you can and focus when he burst you
Usually warrior when burst are bit stationary
Some time I like scepter with the cc and aoe also it’s aa hit 1-2k so it’s nice range pressure

Hybrid condi build works wonders against warrior, if you are willing to go that route.

On my guard I always make sure to drop symbol and use we if they pin down → HB combo if my clenses are off cooldown. You will do enough return pressure between the symbol ticks, ww , and retaliation to force them to cancel the skill or eat a similar or larger amount of damage that they are doing.
Or save shelter for when it starts.

Be smart with your blinds and blocks and you can mitigate their damage like no tomorrow.
Besides that just practice the match up till you get a feel what you need to do or what you feel comfortable doing . you will prevail in the end :-)

Here’s how to beat a every class with a Guardian:

1. Logout and go to character select
2. Carefully choose your Guardian and select delete and fill in the delete confirmation
3. Now, pick a new character, the warrior, and pick your story options
4. Take time and effort to travel through the story and level up your warrior to 80
5. Now equip your warrior with a hammer and a bow, this very important
6. Kill every class with little to no effort
7. ???
8. Profit

As a GS/LB Warrior main, I will tell you some of the things that annoy me when fighting a guardian.

#1: The many aegis, blocks and invulnerabilities that the guardian has. A GS/LB Warrior relies on Pindown to land Hundred blades and I find that it is really hard to land on good guardians. Aside from knowing how to dodge and having condition removal. And Arcing Arrow many times will miss for the same reasons.

#2: Healing. Especially if it is a med or a bunker guardian. Longbow doesn’t have a lot of sustained DPS. Once Arcing Arrow is on cooldown all it pretty much as is autos and combustive shot which really don’t do a whole lot of damage. So once a Warrior switches Longbow, dodge their Arcing Arrow and Pindown, and either go aggressive or heal up.

#3: Blinds. Blinds are annoying as hell. Especially when being blinded when using Pin Downs and Arcing Arrow.

Also, don’t let the Warrior hit you with autos and hundred blades. That is the biggest mistake people make.

The most difficult builds to face with are Guardians with a good balance between sustainability/tankiness and DPS, which is possible for a Guardian.

They tend to have GS/Sc/F. Scepter/Focus outdpses Longbow highly so in a ranged fight a Warrior won’t win.

Or GS/Sw/F which is annoying because of the teleportation and blinds. It is a very in your face build that GS/LB Warriors can have a tough time handling.

Many of the builds also go meditation build.

Hammer/GS warrior is more difficult to deal with as a Guardian. However if you pack at least one source of stability and 1-2 stunbreakers you should be fine. Remember to use blinds while he is switched to hammer especially. Also if you use a scepter kite him while he is using hammer and go aggressive in melee while he uses greatsword.

Shield of the Avenger will force him to go melee. He/She will rely on Pin Down to Hundred Blades you. Don’t let him do that. If he does, use one of your many condi removals. Once he starts hundred blades dodge roll out like it’s the plague.

direct damage warriors can be delt with.

The real issue arises when you meet a properly built and half bad played hybrid build.

I main a small party guardian for over 2k hours in wvw and had about 300 hours on my warrior and i just cant be killed by a guardian in a 1v1 when playing my bybrid with bow and sword/warhorn.

It doesnt matter how many blinds and blocks you pack, all my skills has to low cooldown and i can apply +10 stacks bleeds for 1500 damage per second at any point. And 20 seconds into the fight the guardian has everything on cooldown and now we are talking about 20 stacks of bleeds with 2500 damage per second. Ofc with at least 3 cover conditions.

I melt guardians what ever build you bring.

I also swap my longbow for hammer and still play hybrid and might stack so basically i can combine >2k power with 2500 damage per seconds in bleeds and over 600 heals per second, add in 27k health and you get the picture..

Seriously, it cant be matched and only pure direct damage warrior build might be considered a possible/likely win.
