Well first I’d have to ask what you plan on doing?

For PvE you don’t really need much if any in the way of healing power as long as people your with are semi competent.

For WvW roaming I’d say your in a good spot. Though if I were you I might consider using a few pieces of celestial gear instead of Magi. It will mean less healing power but more vitality, power, critical damage etc… which will make you hit harder & be harder to kill.

One last note, be careful using save yourselves. It can be nice in some situations but it can also kill you quite easily.
Considering your using master of consecrations I’d consider using purging flames as it can remove conditions & be quite nice for might stacking if someone on your side has blast finishers.

There is no need for any healing power above what you get from honor as far as PvE is concerned.

You may consider tossing on a couple pieces of zealot’s or celestial gear on occasion for harder stuff but really as long as your a semi competent player playing with others who have some working brain cells there is no reason for it.

This is because damage comes in such large spikes that either you cannot heal fast enough (unless your sacrificing extremely large amounts of DPS for healing) or its so well telegraphed that you can avoid the vast majority of it.

Heck at lvl 80 I have beaten a good 50% or more of the dungeon paths in guild groups where everyone’s character was naked (except for weapon, helm & boots) and they were playing while drunk.
That ^ should give you an idea how easy most dungeons are once you know them & have any skill with your class.

The later build you linked however would be a good one for WvW roaming if you have someone who can provide swiftness.

Understand that most dungeon encounters are designed in a way that you can avoid most if not all the damage. This renders healing as a whole irrelevant in those situations. Combine that with the fact that healing power scales horribly on just about everything but dodge rolls, you’re just doing yourself a disservice wasting stat points on healing power.

Now that doesn’t mean healing tools are useless, they just don’t scale well.

Take this fight for instance, COE path1 (submarine) the Subject Alpha fight. Basically he’ll rotate 2 attacks on you, a fire blast that sets you on fire doing slow and steady damage but not that much, and a second attack that he kind stomps and does a tiger woods fist pump sending out a series of larger and larger circles that hit pretty hard.

If you count 1…2…dodge after the flame blast you can dodge the second harder hitting attack and then you only deal with that slow burning damage. That burning damage can be negated pretty much fully with just using mace2 and the auto attack even without any specced healing power. So why stack healing power when I can instead stack more damage and kill him that much faster meaning less of a chance I fail a dodge and take that big hit.

On the other side, if I don’t avoid that big damage, and instead try to heal through it, even if I stacked full healing power I wouldn’t be able to keep up and eventually would be squashed.

They made this game with the intent that there would not be a healing role, and there isn’t. You can gain some things from healing power but in general it’s not a stat you really want in PVE because so much of it is about really HARD hitting attacks that you’re supposed to avoid, rather than smaller damage you can heal through.

Learn the attack sequences of your enemies, learn to dodge the big hitters, use your healing tools to help keep you up against the things you can’t easily avoid with well timed dodges/blocks.

I know it’s as bit of a strange concept if you’re use to the standard achetypes. Guardian sounds like it’s the cleric or paladin from other games. But, it’s just not quite the same thing. It’s much more of a hybrid. Take that cleric/pally and add more Warrior into it and then you’re getting close to the GW2 guardian. You have heals, but that’s not where your power lies. The power is in damage prevention and mitigation more than the healing.
