not at all needed right now, but for frac 51+ im thinking full zerk groups may not cut it. im looking for a tanky guardian build that can dish atleast some damage, so im thinking condi is prob the way to go?

anyone have anything they use or theorycrafted?

I runned few 50 fracts with a full celestial guardian with GS and mace/shield. zeal, valor and honor. Yes, without virtues. I intend to do it again with DH valor and honor. You end with like 20k hp, 38% crit, 198 crit dmg, 1k heal power, 1700 toug, 500 condi dmg and 1800 power. Dmg is not impresive but is not lackluster and is pretty durable.

No ranged option till DH really hurts though.

Guardian can apply burning in a burst well enough, but I have severe doubts you could permanently keep up enough burns to make it worth while.

As core said however celestial can work rather well

It can also be easily modified for more damage/healing by swapping pure of voice for writ of persistence (which nearly doubles mace healing and gives it a good damage boost)
And if your looking for more damage without the light fields you can swap a couple traits around and grab the greatsword. It has less support for allies but more burst potential.

It may work even better with dragonunter instead of zeal as well due to the recent changes they announced in a sticked thread.

It would be bad. Sinister guard was around half direct an half condi damage from what I remember from running calcs. It’s not like engi which the majority of your damage is condi so you would lose very little for them. Purge is somewhat important to run too so your stuck with something that isn’t that great for most fractal content.

I’m thinking maybe dire gear?

Open the build calculator and try the following:

Gears = 3 x Dire, 3 Soldier
Weapons = Carrion

Backpiece = Soldier
Amulet = Sinister
Rings = 1 x Sinister, 1 x Rabid
Earrings = 2 x Berserker

Balthazar runes to help burn. Adjust the zerker earrings to something like Rabid if you want to lean more on tankiness and condi.

The ultimate plan for a Guardian to be a good sustain is to not go below 15k hp.
