so I was messin around and made this. its works surprisingly well. you can dish out a ton of aoe pressure with all of your fast aoe hits + permeating wrath. PW seems like a pretty underwhelming trait but when you have so many fast hitting aoes it can build up pretty quickly. it absolutely punishes the enemy in a teamfight on a small node.

the sigils will proc constantly with all of your aoes + fury + right hand strength trait. might wanna have some on swap sigils for mace / shield, maybe a different rune. fragments of faith + mace has the best on point presence but you are super slow so that’s something to consider.

anywho hopefully someone else has success with this. its a fun build.

added pic. that’s what the full burst looks like. it takes around 6 secs, but the pressure is constant with all the low cds. f3 hits hard and cures quite a bit of condis so don’t waste it.

Very very bad setup for a burn guard. Mace shield is great for sitting under arrow carts in WvW but as a roaming or spvp setup it is basically useless. Burn guard simply isn’t that viable in spvp largely because you can’t get to +100% burn duration since food isn’t available. But if you want to, you can try either as a viper guard setup like this or run a trailblazer amulet (although your dmg would be greatly reduced).

viper lol? you would survive all of 3 secs in pvp with that. I’m tellin ya man, just try my variant. it puts out some crazy aoe pressure.

you don’t need condi duration to do damage with condis. condi clears are pretty common so going into duration is sacrificing quite a lot of stat for not so much of a payout. don’t believe me? check out the burn guard meta. they both use carrion.

Things I don’t like about this is you actually lose a fair amount of damage for imo a marginal increase in 1v1 cability and condi cover for burns. I know a lot of people dont run it b ut I personally really like purging flames you catch a few people in it in team fight and it hurst. Also good by free 35% crit and lower torch cooldowns and lower burn damage. I really dont see the Burn Guardian as 1v1 anyway its burst condi damage when you can catch people at the right time. Its almost a for kittens and giggles build not to take too seriously to do high damage with the perfect burn bomb with the right timing. It actually works best in team fights with other peoples conditions to help cover. Most of the top side point duelers arent going to care that sometimes you can stack 3 or 4 conditions on them they’ll cleanse them fast especially warrior. Thats who you will get in a side point duel like 50% of the time and you’ll never beat them if they are the same skill level as you are.

Either Deadshot amulet or wanderer’s amulet plus Balth runes will get you 100% burn duration.

that’s why you don’t take matchups that you cant win. burn guard isn’t viable, but it can be really effective if used right.
