I have a question, Im running my guardian (semi-zerker) with GS and Sword/Focus.
Atm im runnin Sigil of Force and Sigil of Fire on my GS and Sigil of Fire on the Sword and Sigil of Force on the Focus. (Got more dmg on burnin foes in traits)
The costant 5% damage increase is nice, but I was kinda wondering if it would be usefull to get Sigil of Bloodlust on one of the weapons.
I know I cant put Bloodlust on the Focus because its on kill and you dont really kill anything with a Focus…maybe when lucky with the first focus skill.

My question would be…should I put Bloodlust on one of the weapons and if so…which Sigil should I sacrifice….

It doesn’t matter which weapon you slot the sigil on, main-hand or off-hand you will still get a bloodlust stack regardless of which weapon ( or utility ) does the killing. ( provided it is equipped )

Since the last patch there are all sorts of annoying issues with them though which means you will keep losing the stacks unless you are very careful: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Bloodlust

well obviously id keep the weapon equipped during, the problem with entering te water could be solved by throwing a bloodlust onto an underwater weapon so the stack stays active. Ive had it tested with my exotic GS which has bloodlust on it, and when switching to the S/F weaponset, the stack did stay.

I think statwise it would be worth it since itll give me an extra 250 on power…and since im only semi zerk it might be good to stack up the power wherever i can.

The only thing would be…where should i loose the sigil to stack Bloodlust…probably on the S/F set, but myeh im not quite sure on wether i should loose the Force or Fire…

This is simple to work out.
-Sigil of Fire gives about 1K damage every 5 seconds, on top of your base damage.
- To work out how much DPS you would need to be doing to make Force a superior option to Fire, simply multiply the Fire damage by 20. This is because 5% = 100/20.
- 1Kx20 = 20K every 5 seconds. This means you need to be doing 20K of damage every 5 seconds in order to make force a superior option to fire. Even a proc every 10 seconds rather than 5 would require 10K damage on an enemy. In a PVP envrionment this is just not gonna happen.

I think this speaks for itself.

Damage is also way more useful when applied in “bursts” in gw2 anyway. Force is for sustained damage, whereas fire and air let you burst far harder.

Well even in PvE that would be kinda hard, specially cuz im Semi-Zerk…soo…. you recommend taking out Force and replace it with Bloodlust?

I’m just bummed cuz I’ve got a Sup Bloodlust sigil in my GS and I’m losing stacks constantly. It’s a 10g sigil and replacing it with Fire seems like a waste of gold, especially because with my luck they’ll patch it the week after I swap em.

I have Force + Night on my Hammer and Force + Perception on my Greatsword on swap. So far I have never lost my stacks gained through killing on my GS by switching to my hammer, so I am not sure I can confirm the information that tells otherwise on the wiki. I can also tell for myself that using waypoints inside an instance such as dungeons do not make you lose your stacks.

If you want to change a weapon that you currently equip with something else you must either have a weapon of the same sigil on your off hand and/or offset. In my case, when I gained a Perception stack with my Greatsword I didn’t lose it when I put the Greatsword back to my inventory as I had swapped my Hammer with a weapon that had the same sigil (it can be any other weapon with the sigil) before doing so. If I then wanted to put my weapon with Sigil of Perception to my inventory, I had to wear a weapon (my GS but could be anything) on my offset, or if the weapon I wanted to change was mainhand on my offhand. You can do this indefinitely without losing stacks and in the end it doesn’t matter if you wear the same weapon you got your initial stacks, you just have to wear any weapon regardless of quality, level or anything that has the same sigil before replacing your initial and thereafter weapons.

From what ive seen whats on the wiki is pretty accurate. To be able to retain your stack as much as possible you have to make sure you always have bloodlust available on your weapon. May that be on first or 2nd weaponset.
Also because alot of maps can force you into the water you have to make sure you have an underwater weapon with bloodlust on it aswell.
But then again 25 kills are quite easily made and with Bloodlust fully stacked you will get 250 power which will make a difference.
So imo its still worth it, you just have to make sure you know how stacking Bloodlust and maintaining the stack works…this also goes for any other onkill bonus.

The inaccuracies I found ars the fact that swapping weapons and using waypoints in an instance such as a dungeon (instances are not specified in the wiki) don’t affect stacks.
