I think the idea is that the guardian is shouting “Save Yourselves” to their companions, so they try to run away while the guardian dies. Such roleplay!

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

I think the idea is that the guardian is shouting “Save Yourselves” to their companions, so they try to run away while the guardian dies. Such roleplay!

Sadly shouts are weak, running a shout build all i run is retreat for a block and stand your ground for stability those are the only 2 boons i run on my DH shout.
Save yourselvef have puted me in more danger situation with longer CD issue than i can feel its boon effects.
I rather use Spirit weapon SoA for a extra block and stun breaker…. while Anet refuses to fix SW A.I.. shield thinks it is a melee wepon and even at the midle of the fight with a player SW gets out of combat to admire a ambient creature or a animal mob passing by, ANET ….4 years in this

Save yourselves, also pulls stun from allies after cleanse your if ur stunned u gona get stunned again… it is a idiotic skill for how the game is atm :\

All we have is meditrapper or medi base builds.. :\…. it sucks…

Meanwhile i can have 3 SW + 3 traps ready to be spammed…. funny bug.

I love that if “Save Yourselves” was made today it would have been given at least 1 second of resistance so you have a chance to cleans it but since it was made when the game first came out it will forever remain as a suicide button. Remember it is based off of GW1 Martyr and was in beta the skill Martyr on the staff before becoming a shout.

If it were made today, it would grant 1 second of resistance per condi pulled, aka it would actually be worth its cooldown and become a decent skill.

We’ve said this before. Save Yourselves needs 3 sec of resistance so you have a chance to press another button before you die. Especially since Save Yourselves hasn’t been updated to take into account the Condi Stacking that was implemented last year.

Its sooo strong its never used in PvP and don’t even dare try it in WvW in a big group. I use it for open world fun when solo . Then yeah its good.

SY is okay in T4 fractals, that’s about it. if anything should be reworked the devs should swap rev and guardian base HP because rev has more uptime on resistance, invul, dodges/evades and blocks.

I don’t even remotely see why guardian HP should be changed.
For once I agree with Nike, Save Yourselves’ weakness is even in its name. If the skill is underperforming, it should be buffed but its weakness should remain because its 100% intended and its part of what makes the skill interesting. Give it quickness, stability, a cooldown decrease, etc, but it shouldn’t grant any notable amount of resistance.

Using it just for boonstorm isn’t actually the intended design, and yet, that’s what got it knocked in pvp in the first place.

So here’s an even better solution:

Chop the boon duration down to 3s for everything.
Gain 3s Resistance on skill use
Pure of Voice and Trooper Runes then activate, clearing/converting conditions on allies
Then pull all conditions from allies to yourself and grant boons
Increase boon duration by 1s for every unique condition you transfer.

I can’t recall off the top of my head how increased boon duration would affect the “increase boon duration by 1s” clause, but there’s some room for more fine tuning. Perhaps the boons could all be 5s base, but increase by 0.5s per condition transferred. The idea of course, is that it becomes better by performing its primary function.
