Spirit weapons should absolutely have a cool down. They’d become extremely unbalanced if they didn’t have that. Every other class (and skill type) has to deal with cool downs. Why should we get special treatment and not have to worry about them? Part of using spirit weapons effectively is taking the cool down into account.
I support this. As long as they are destructible and with poor AI there is no point for them to have a duration. Also “Improved Spirit Weapon Duration” trait would need to be changed to increase their health instead.

He means their uptime duration, not their cooldown after being destroyed/commanded.
And if you meant that, then I should point you towards the necromancers whose minions don’t have this and are pretty much what OP is talking about.
I agree, I don’t see the purpose in making them temporary now since they aren’t invulnerable anymore. I only run a spirit weapon underwater because my underwater build sucks, the skills I want to use aren’t available, and I don’t know what else to put there.

If that’s what was meant, then I clearly misunderstood because it was so poorly conveyed. Cool down is definitely the wrong term. Uptime is a completely different ordeal and my thoughts are that are far more mixed. The amount of time spirit weapons are up is certainly questionable now that they have lower health. On the other hand, since they do have such low health, it’s pretty rare that my weapons are up for the entire duration to begin with.

I tend to use Signet of Judgment (for the damage reduction), Retreat!, and Save Yourselves! But I use a lot of shouts in my build.
