Okay, so I’ve been playing around with different builds. I really like the burning builds and Mediation builds, but also feel like there has to be room for more. I put this shout build together. Feedback is welcome. It is more of a support type build, but might be able to do decent in 1v1 I have to test it.

I would change the following for shout based builds;

Shelter for the heal is paramount for pvp, no other heal offers the blocks.

Switch out radiance for valor, radiance has meh traits unless you are going condi and valor has altruistic healing which synergises well with shouts, plus you can grab strength in numbers and the focus trait as well.

Swap out unscathed commander, the amount of times your aegis lasts long enough to benefit from it is minimal when you are a shout build and not using ranged. I’d get retaliatory subconscious for the extra aegis when hard cc’d.

That is what I would use if I was using shouts.

The problem with shouts and dps is that shouts and soldier runes pretty much is a bunker set up. The classes atm are either too bursty or condi heavy, so if you go any bunker, you go full bunker for more survivability. Don’t worry though, the bunker now can beat people 1v1, it just takes a while longer.

Thanks for the feedback.
I replaced Radiance with Valor and played around with my rune sets a little. Divinty runes provided pretty good stats, but Traveler gave my boons an increase in duration. Still a work in progress, and I’m at work so I can’t test, but here is the lastest incarnation.

Considering hammer over sword, but I’m not really sure yet.

You can’t go wrong with hammer. It’s perfect for both DPS/burst and support (in the form of cc and a 5 CD blast finisher). Ring of warding is literally a death trap, and hammer 4 is great to secure rezzes/stomps (launch the stomper or the person being rezzed). Hammer 3 is a no brainer because of how powerful a “piercing” immobilize is, just don’t use it from the full range because it’s easy to dodge/sidestep. If you’re all out of cooldowns, dropping the hammer AA for protection isn’t a bad call, although it’s pretty lackluster untraited. I take hammer on all of my guard builds for these reasons.

I would ditch save yourselfs for hold the line. Shorter and way less suicidal. Personally with this setup I think staff can be a nice alternative if You Need too quickly changes to a bunker setup.

Had a chance to play the build a little. Went to GS because of the faster attack speed. Boons, especially elite, can change the balance of a team fight quickly in my team’s favor. Can’t take out anyone out in a 1v2, but can stall for a long enough time for help to arrive.
