Q:
tank build for CM story run
Straight DPS? Because CM Story mode is easy as hell? By far, this is the easiest and shortest dungeon I have played … why does it matter what you are playing?
You can’t really tank anything in the game. If your group is getting some good field + blast finisher spam, you sort of can. But most bosses, you are playing the avoidance game more than anything.

I used Altruistic Healing + Empowering Might from 60 to 75 and face tanked the whole thing. Power/precision also (lol).
nothing i like so far i want to tank no problem
Your problem is that you’re expecting to tank damage. On another forum I just posted this:
“I play offensively but still have about 100% Protection duration. Even so, it doesn’t let me “tank”, it just means I can afford to make slightly more mistakes without death.
Same goes for Toughness or Vitality, it doesn’t let you stand there, hold aggro, and literately “tank” the damage, it just allows you to take more attacks and damage than you normally would.
When looking for someone for a group, the last thing I want to find is someone who tells me they’re built to tank. All that tells me is that they’re less likely to avoid damage when they should and that will deal relatively low damage/support.
If you’re talking about a “survival” build rather than a “tank” build, then the above is perfectly suited. But in any tanking style from any game, you can’t build to be an effective tank here. "

I use my staff mostly for the skill 4 dps buff then switch to my greatsword for damage and aoe condition purge. If you need to stay ranged or need to throw some healing switch to the staff then use skill’s 2-4. Over all i can just stand at a mob without any issues in cm.
