I’ve been away from the game for nearly three months and still see my builds are very active out on GW2Build.com. But it also appears the tool is still outdated.

Anyone know of an English tool that is kept up to date for creating builds?

This doesn’t save to the public like Gw2Build, but it’s the best build creator website: http://www.gw2buildcraft.com/calculator

Thanks Danicco.
I’m checking it out now and like the added details in this tool.

they did a major overhaul as well and now includes PvE/WvW options.

may not be as “clean” looking as buildcraft but more compact, and i think all consumables and skills/traits are more updated than buildcraft.

last time i checked (about a week or so ago), gw2buildcraft for e.g. is missing the Power + Crit damage food. signets still reflect 90 stat increase instead of 180, etc.

that being said, i haven’t used buildcraft since so feel free to correct me if i’m wrong if they’ve updated again.

to add though, buildcraft also offers effective power, damage reduction, effective health options if that helps you.

I’d like to endorse http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/ also.

Since their latest overhaul its incredibly easy to make builds for any format. Previously it was pvp only.

While buildcraft is a more mathy, numbercrunch kind of system, gw2skills feels more relevant to in game things. Buildcraft can show you effective power and effective health, but sometimes the math can be wonky, or people don’t read the disclaimers on how effective power actually works. Gw2skills makes the calculations itself based on your build, and you can easily see the damage tooltips change based on what kind of traits or armor you’ve equipped. It feels like you’re making real, in game builds.

Because of gw2skills, I now know that my 10k effective power (joke) build from buildcraft will have ~1.6k scepter auto attacks, and crits hitting the 4k range. Smite would deal a disgusting 30k max. These are things I never would have known on buildcraft.

buildcraft does allow you to fine tune your buffs/stats in case they missed something, and you can see exactly how much that 8sec Fury is helping your dps, which gw2skills doesn’t yet do.

Get accustomed to both imo. I use gw2skills for all my generic crafting needs, and if I need something with more crunch, buildcraft is right there.

I concur with Ghotistyx. Build craft has a lot of extra info if you want to do some theory crafting, but I find the drop down menus fall off the screen and it isn’t compact enough for my general needs.

Also when choosing sigils and runs and the like, there is not a mouse over tooltip to let you know exactly what stats are on that item until you select it. I like the flow of gw2skills and the look as well, but I keep both bookmarked for different reasons.

yea, good analysis Ghost and CMF. gw2skills more compact, the update was VERY nice for WvW/PvE, but not as fully fleshed out as buildcraft in terms of some of the more mathy stuff.

both have their pros. : ))) i like gw2skills for the ease of putting a quick build together though!
