For am while now ihave been struggling with what weapon set combo to use. Lately I have been using gas/hammer and the synergy of these weapons are amazing however I still feel like I’m not satisfied. I was thinking of doing gs and mace/focus this provides blocks to protect against more attacks however it also applies burning every time I block and might to myself as well.

Give your opinions. Tell me what you like and why so I can try and figure this out. Thank a lot for everyone’s time

I use GS/Hammer too and love it. I sometimes switchout the hammer for a staff or sceptre/focus for range

OK so if I had to choose between gs or hammer (for wvw) what would u choose and y

I always keep both on me even if not using one or the other.
GS always does the most damage for me, but Hammer is good against tougher mobs with the added CC.

I always have a GS, Hammer, Staff, Scepter and Focus in my bag depending on what im doing.

what is your trait set up? we know you’re deep in valor. but geting the full picture can help a little bit as well. for e.g. if you have at least 10 – 15 in radiance, GS could workquite nicely. whereas if you have quite a bit in honor, one could argue hammer might be a better choice.

but again, it mainly depends on the situaion and what you feel like. : ))

Well I have been toying around and have ended up liking 0/0/10/30/30 (my old build was a 0/0/30/20/20). But I am mainly a ’group support guard that builds himself to not be totally useless if I need to do a 1v1 or small scale PvP.

Why chose use both, range weapons are for chickens

If you are in WvW I have been using scepter/torch with the staff. You could probably use something different then torch.

I combine this with shield spirit weapon and wall of reflection as well as hollowed ground.

You will be negating a lot of damage from your enemies from the bubble that absorbs projectiles the shield offers, yoh will be reflecting projectiles back to the enemy from wall of reflection, dropping a line of warding from staff that will knock down the enemy, and you grant your team stability.

Not as good one on one but you can switch staff for greatsword. Scepter/torch can control and dps fairly well. Greatsword if they get close.

Gs/hammer, hammer/GS, Hammer/staff – dungeon
Scepter/shield or focus for wvw plus either hammer or GS depending on the situation or staff/GS-Hammer

Depends on what you are doing.

Typically you want some form of range mixed with either utility or melee. (Sceptor/shield and maybe greatsword, staff or hammer)
