Mesmer is unfun to play against and does everything better than thieves.
Hoping those two get gutted with nerfs
this is probably my biggest problem with mmos is that I don’t know how to keybind so I want to try what other people have. what do you guys have for your utility and elite and the unique skills?
6 = 6
7 = e
8 = custom mouse button
9 = custom mouse button
10 = 10 (I use the fat finger for this one, not much problem since is used from ttt).
Tag target = custom mouse button
WASD movement (strafe)
Q weapon swap
E and shift+E weapon skill 1 and 2
R and shift+R weapon skill 3 and 4
ctrl+R weapon skill 5
shift+SPACE utility 1
ctrl+SPACE utility 2
ctrl+shift+SPACE utility 3
T target
F interact
TAB swap target
mouse thumb buttons:
7, 8, 9 Virtues (you can bind this to 1-4)
10 heal (bind it to C)
6 elite (bind it to B.)
1 look behind
extra left button: dodge (use double tap if you want)
EDIT: as you can see I rely heavily on my left thumb and little finger and on my right thumb. No surprise since the thumb is the second most agile bodypart in the human’s body. My left little finger also has a lots to do: shift, ctrl, ctrl+shift and the Í key for TeamSpeak. This little fellow had so much training and workout in the past 10 years that it could win the Mr. Universe for little fingers

Mine’s as good as it gets:
Weapon skills: 1 2 3 4 E
Healing skill: Q
Utilities: ZXC
Elite: V
Dodge: Shift
Select next enemy: Tab
Mouse 5 for 1
Mouse 4 for F1 (Deathadder mouse)
Stow weapon: F5
Can you program the pointer to the thumb pads?
I use a razer naga, fantastic mouse to use with gw2.
my keybinds are default but all the skills are accessible to my thumb so it’s easy peasy.
When there are 4 profession skill i bind the f1 to my Q and the rest to 0, – and =
Movement is ESDF, about-face on C, dodge on V.
Weapon Skills are Q W R T G, with weapon swap on Z.
Heal is B, Utilities are Shift+W, Shift+R, Shift+T, Elite is Shift+G.
Profession keys are 1 2 3 4. I also have 1 bound to left-Ctrl, since there’s quite a few professions that want / need to hit that key much more than the others. (Necromancers, Warriors, Thieves especially; Guardians, Mesmers, Rangers less so.)
Tab is select target, call target is middle mouse button (I think) and take target is X.
Interact on A, AoE loot on Shift+A.
This leaves all of my combat keybinds on my left hand so my I can have constant view control with my mouse.
Can you program the pointer to the thumb pads?
Yes (though if you use a gamepad, you’ll need this $10 program: http://xpadder.com/). Mine was initially programmed to do that but I was never as fast with it as with a mouse. It’s not a huge deal for me since my primary build doesn’t use any ground targeting. I use the left toggle for movement (clicking takes target). The right toggle is my utilities + stomp (clicking jumps). The d-pad is f1, f2, f3, and elite. Left shoulder/trigger is strafe left/next target. Right shoulder/trigger is strafe right/swap weapons.
If you wanted to make the pointer one of the toggles, you could do it, but then you’d be down 4 buttons and would need to use the keyboard also.
