Q:

Hello, I recently leveled to 80, and want to start doing dungeons runs as support – but have no clue on which stats to pick.

I’d like to run a build on the lines of 0-0-30-30-10 with shouts and altruistic healing.

I’m slowly crafting myself a full suit of cleric armor, to be socketed with dolyak runes, and cleric trinkets. Since i’m a casual player, I only have time to farm this once (for now) so I don’t want to pick something that won’t work at all.

My main concern is that, with this kind of gear, i have tons of toughness and healing, but won’t have any vit and i suppose i might get easily one shotted in dungeons.

what’s your suggestion? So far I got my hands on exotic legs and chest of the cleric, and the dolyak runes, but I can sell the runes back since i didnt equip them yet.

thanks a lot for the help!

Well my healing guardian is only level 53 but my thief is 80 and both have all healing runes and jewels. Neither of them get one shot in the slightest, the main things that are even gonna come close to one shoting anyone are bosses. Boss one shot attacks almost always have big telegraphs warning you, so if you are quick with your Virtue of Courage and Retreat you can flat out block most of the big attacks like Kholers pull.

Something folks don’t seem to get is, low health pool doesn’t mean dies fast. (in pve) Guardians can block and heal fast enough to tank some crazy stuff. Warriors have that huge health pool so they can get in pop there huge damage skills and get out before they die. you can make a Warrior tanky but he still wont last as long as a fully specked guardian with out support.

So for your kit I would dump the runes of the dolyak and get a full set of runes of the flock.

Runes of the Soldier may also be a good choice if you’re going for a shouter build. If you’re concerned about your Vit, getting some from runes isn’t a bad idea.

With full Runes of the Soldier and 30 points in Honor, you’ve got +465 vitality right there. Not a huge amount, but I’d say that should keep you going in conjunction with your high toughness and healing power.

I am basically running the exact same build, and have been for about a week or so. 30 Valor, 30 Honor and 10 Virtues. I am also running around in full Cleric 80 Exotic gear. I am still working on weapons, jewelry and runes, but I will get there eventually.

I feel pretty tank in explorable dungeons, while still doing decent damage (due to the power from Cleric gear). Though, I would like to have a little more Vitality I think. So I might split my jewelry between VIT and Toughness/Healing Power.

Overall though, it is very supportive and defensive, and am enjoying it quite a bit. The only part I am not enjoying is the stupid Magic Find stat in the game. I hope it gets removed, but I honestly don’t see a point in not using it with how many more drops you get.

Since money is basically the only thing that matters at 80, I don’t see how I can go much longer without using all magic find stuff.
