wvw guard - judges intervention
Can it be useful, yes.
However given what it does, the cool down, the fact it does not apply stability & the fact the guardian does not really have ready access to cripples/chills it just doesn’t tend to be as useful.
Even in PvP it has problems, sure it can break a stun & get you to a target. But the CD & keeping the target in range still can be a real problem vs anyone smart enough to kite well.
Yet in pvp, it’s still one of the best utility skills we have. It’s an essential gab closer for a class with 0 mobility.
Rank: Top 250 since Season 2

try to face a rangers with shouts lol… u need that gap closer its mandatory.
Uh, I’m talking about the wvw meta build.
edited post title.
Unlikely.
By it’s nature it separates you from your party members, and that just gets everyone killed.
It can be used effectively in GvG however
Ohh youre talking about the AH Frontline build? Doubtful. Using JI in a zerg v zerg fight is dangerous and too unpredictable for you to coordinate.
I run a medi guard in the backline to help snipe casters and protect my own, and I have to be very careful on when and where I JI. Ive made the mistake of teleporting right into a bomb on several occasions.
It can be helpful, however it is very situational. For example in my guild we will use a few JI frontliners to use Ring of Warding +JI at same time onto the backline. If we time it right, we have 5 rings stripping all that stability and locking the backline for a few seconds. And with rest of our heavies pushing their hammer heavies this gives our backline the perfect moment to bomb the heck out of them.
Will it be placed into the meta? most likely not, due to the high amount of coordination and communication to pull it off. And if you accidentally hit JI too late with ring of warding you strand yourself and you will get killed.
Good luck
I always have enjoyed being at the front and
SoW—>JI—→Wall of Reflection
on the front of a zerg or preferably a tight group buffing than retreating back like crazy.
Solo WvW roaming utility and generally useful in EotM. That’s better than a lot of utilities.
Hi there…
If you don’t like to run triple or double shouts + purging flames… like me (and the team composition allows it and also your leader…) then the JI is a nice addition. Sure you want to be with the melee train but it gets a bit oldschool anyways.
In the fray of a battle there is always some chance to use it. Stomp, defend your backline (they are much more important now…), catch low HP casters, etc…
If the MI had some CD reduction I would use it much more often too. Since the stability changes any way to get to B point from A without crossing the crap on the ground is a nice thing…
My 2 cents…
alright thanks. i was wanting to take a random poll on this based on a situation: you come out of water reset, staff pressure, then bait their bombs, then instead of waiting for them to recover you skip over their bomb and force them to backpedal.
