I used to use them way back when they were invulnerable. They were so much fun back then. No point in using them now, they die too esasily. All summons on every class that can summon are weak. Thieves guild is probably the only decent summon type of skill, ive actually killed people with that. But then again that’s an elite skill. Still no excuse for spirit weapons being so horrible. Have these people never played a beastmaster in EQ? THAT is how a pet should be. I admit, them being invulnerable was pretty OP and I abused the hell out of it being glassy and hanging back while my weapons ripped people a new one, but it was fun. But they still shouldn’t die so easily. And all summons should remain out until they die. have either a health bar or a timer, but not both! Lose the timer and let them do their thing till they get killed.

When…..I tried them again last night after swapping traits to support them. Sent them in vs. a Champ in the new event and having them die so quickly they never made it to their target.

I’m actually able to keep a Sword alive indefinitely in the Tower of Nightmares! Granted, that’s using a mace + Writ of Mercy + Battle Presence, but… It works.

They aren’t great, but they are not completely worthless. In fights where I know i will be kiting, I slot the sword and get full duration out of it.

I don’t think it’s the skill’s issue when you summon a limited pet into an AE heavy environment and it dies instantly. It’s very situational, by no means should it be a mainstay on your skill bar.

But really, what classes have all amazing skills and nothing that is very niche and situational?
