Current build

That’s what I am currently running at the moment in WvW, it’s good, and I like its play style.. I am just wondering what little changes people would make to make it easier to take people down without losing too much of it’s survivability..

Neat build! This is pretty close to the old PvE phant build, but tweaked for mantras and survival. I’m assuming you use MoP spam for healing and bonus armor when in trouble, and let your phantasms do most of the work? I may give something like this a try.

My suggestions, mostly minor:

1. I’m not sure how much mileage you get from Debilitating Dissipation when you have zero condi damage or duration boost. I’d trade for 10 points in Dom and get Empowered Illusions for even harder-hitting phants.
2. All sigils share cooldowns, two on-swap (Doom + Energy) won’t work together. I’d change one to a stacking sigil or Force sigil.
3. Since you still have exotic trinkets, definitely get put in crit jewels (I’d suggest ruby instead of emerald), they’re the best slot in the game for crit dmg. You get +1% critdmg per 5 stat points only.

Okay cool, thanks for the advice, have changed things up a little now to grab the extra 15% damage..

Am also thinking.. what about swapping out Dueling IV for Dueling II (Phant’s have fury)

Then changing up all my gear to Cavalier/Valkyrie (Toughness/Vitality + Power + Crit Dam) to increase my phants damage..

What do people think about that? Will I loose much/any survivability?

Phantasmal fury is always nice, but given you have a sword/sword setup blade training is probably more worth it. Given how phantasm-focused this build is, I might almost be inclined to try it without Deceptive Evasion, instead. A little riskier, though.

As for gear, I’d lean more towards berserker and cavalier than Valkyrie – you already have 30 in Inspiration so you have a more than adequate HP pool, and with all the healing you should be getting from mantras the bonus toughness of Cavalier will be more valuable.

Of course, how much survivability you need depends a lot on specific circumstances, so you’ll have to play around and see what you’re comfortable with.

If you’re already running mantra and purity, then 20 points in the toughness tree is better than 30 points in vitality, at least for your own survival. The 15 point trait is very powerfull and has a 100% chance to trigger on cd if you have phantasm regen. You can pick the 9% damage reduction trait to weigh up for the lost hp. If you want to keep the phantasm damage you can of course also go 15/25.

Definitely go knight or knight+berserker for this build regardless of whether you take phantasmal fury – with all that healing the toughness will pay off and it gives better damage than cavalier.

I’d probably drop deceptive evasion and shattered conditions and try either:
0/30/0/25/15 for IC + phantasmal fury + compounding power
10/20/0/25/15 for IC +15% damage + compounding power
But it’s really up to you, as you can see by now there are heaps of ways to vary this build.

I run a 30/10/0/30/0 build and find in wvw you usually have plenty of room to move, so protected mantras/deceptive evasion isn’t as important as in spvp. Also portal is really handy if you feel like dropping decoy for it, you can get away from zergs while roaming, split up small groups to make them manageable or just recharge mantras by teleporting back and forth so they can’t hit you.
