12k confusion! Video added
My present build
2022 + 250(sigil) +150(compounding power)
Anything interruptable dies very quickly since interruped targets apply aoe confusion(i think mistrust confusion stacks with more targets in an area close to each other) + grant you 5 stacks of might with each interrupt, and you tend do do good on dungeon bosses as well with about 3-5k bleeding, 2-4k torment, 2-4k confusion, a little bit of poison and burning, not counting the 5k+ pistol phantasm + auto attack etc etc
You are quite tanky in the build with a lot of protection due to chaos armor + scepter block + interrupts with magic bullet, chaos storm + diversion
Shatters are a must! 10 second + torment on each illusion shattered is a lot!!
Mistrust is tooo goood! do not change it to deceptive evasion :P

That’s a crazy confusion proc! And that’s without Dire gear? With Dire, you can get some extra condition damage through a utility buff that increases condi damage based on toughness and vitality. Have you tried using iWarden in an ethereal field? I’ve been able to get 20 stacks of confusion during that and popping MI into a CoF. With interrupts and extra shatters, confusion can get insane stacks. Don’t worry, it’ll get nerfed eventually. We’re mesmers!
All the confusion damage that you see in the pics above is within 1-2 seconds… there’s no time to use iwarden in an ethereal field :P
it’s all interrupts, chaos storm + magic bullet = mistrust procs all around + 25 stacks of might due to interrupts
while dire does net more condition damage we need bleeding as well so we need precision. it a good 25+ stack easy

Master of fragmentation instead of malicious sorcery gives you more interrupt in clumped enemies, if you have illusions well and good, if not.. you can just go close and diversion, that’s 5 enemies dazed, in which u’ll have a few interrupts depending on your timing
diversion shatter without illusions inflict, confusion, torment and hopefully interrupt a couple which leads to more confusion and might and a few boons, also not to forget regarding the amount of boons on you, increasing condition duration and boon duration subsequently.
Once the defiance changes come along, where bosses can be interruptable, as anet mentioned, mesmer’s gonna become a harder class to play with rich benefits which is exactly like gw1 mesmer. feels itchy to play HOT with chronomancer

There was a thread a week or two ago about interrupts on bosses. As it turns out…they don’t work, even with the defiance bar. You won’t get an actual interrupt floater or something, and so they won’t trigger properly.
oh i see, that’s a shame pve interrupt playstyle would be really good, mesmer would be vouched for a reason other than reflects.
46 stacks of Confusion?
I farm Silverwastes a lot and this only really works on Mendors. They do this channeled heal which is interrupted by damage and you often get large stacks of Confusion (20+) fairly easily.
Most of the time the best you can do is 2-4 on other enemies.
It is very useful for killing large packs of Menders though.

I dont believe devs actually said that did they? and the only beta build we been able to play so far are VERY VERY VERY old build, so stuff like that can easily have changed
untrue :P the mordrem that charges ahead knocking everyone, interrupt it when it’s alone and charging.. do it immediately after it starts charging and watch your boons explode. i’ll do a few more videos later

I might be tempted to try something like that, hope you dont mind i more or less copy your build? probably gonna make a few adjustments here and there i think though, for once duelist discipline seem to be bugged ATM so that trait basically does nothing for now

It doesn’t apply the bleeding but you run it for the cdr.
yeah as esplen mentioned, duelist discipline is for the cd reduction, which is very strong, if you interrupt 4 creeps by any means, your pistol skills have 0 cd

The flip side being against things where you want multiple Duelist’s (Champions, etc) it provides no CD reduction at all.
I would prefer if they got rid of the gimmick CD reduction skills on Pistol and
Staff and just gave it a flat 20%.
Timing is all you need at interrupts :-)
Apparently not, because those menders you provided screenshots of get automatically interrupted by just attacking them.
This whole thing seems to work only on menders with that efficiency. The confusion damage is laughtable low on anything else :/ Sadly.

Hm well; the second video has ONE mender, one troll and a couple of vines, if I saw that right. The first video has a pack of menders.
But ya. I still doubt that this is really valuable for actual play.
First vid has 5 menders in it, 2nd vid has 2 menders.
This whole build rampes up just because menders get interrupted by dmg.
Confusion does damage -> interrupts them -> trait stacks confusion -> repeat.
There has just to be one mender and 4 targets around him die to this build. Everywhere else it’s totally garbage (pve), but it’s a nice idea. I know it’s intended to work like this but it seems like this trait needs an icd PER target (like the blind one in illusions).
