+20% boon duration
There’s already a minor in chaos for boon duration per boon on you. Also Chrono doesn’t need more stuff to make it better than core mesmer.
Core mesmer is in a terrible place and needs the help not chrono.
That is what Signet of Midnight should have been instead of changing it to condi duration, to make the passive more flexible, especially since its traits is in a purely power line.
Anyway our boon duration trait is in Chaos, in theory it can give more then 20% but in practice it will prob give about 9% increase in duration but also effects condi duration and isn’t tied to a weapon.
Mesmer damage is so bad that using Commander’s or Minstrel isn’t really going to matter anyway, especially not with the support build.
Yea like others have said we already have the boon duration in the Chaos line, but I haven’t seen any serious builds that ran both chrono and chaos. Overall though I don’t think this is a needed change, you sound like your primary motivation is making our damage less sucky, in which case I believe that other changes would be more effective and with fewer downsides (ie requiring you to run a shield to get the bonus).
Such changes could be as simple as changing phantasms to automatically receive our buffs (or switch a trait out for one similar to Ranger in which we can trait to get them to receive our buffs automatically), or as complex as a rework of our class mechanic.

Boonshare mesmer in WvW (meta) runs both, and I’m also running them for roaming. Although Chaos is a bit useless for PvE and in PvP Inspirations gets the lead for condi cleansing, in WvW it’s widely used.

Why would this be needed? Do you think our boon application in chrono is underpowered and in need of buffs? This idea is just more garbage power creep.
^ agreed. It’s not like concentration, 20% food and a rev wouldn’t already cap our boon duration.

I’d rather have my old Chaotic Dampening and Chaos Armor back….
Inspiration adept trait suggestion: “bountiful aura” increase boon duration by 15% on nearby allies (similar to other traits which increase stats like “Strength in Numbers”, “Spotter”, “Assassin’s Presence”, etc…

Now that would be too easy. We need more hoops to jump through.
“Your Illusions grant nearby allies 5% boon duration up to a maximum of 15%.”
or…
“Grant nearby allies 15% boon duration while affected by Chaos Armor.”
I’d rather see it in Chaos, though. Inspiration really got enough going for it already.
I’m curious, is chaotic persistence in Chaos really noticeable? Even in raid situations where you have lots of boons, this trait got completely overshadowed by revenant’s passive toggle facet of nature.
If not noticeable then they really need to set higher reward when it requires players to meet certain conditions.

To be fair, that’s hard to really check unless you recorded yourself and analyzed the whole footage. I’d assume that it is noticeable in Raids and WvW or large scale open world PvE. In PvP or soloing you might have short periods with many boons but I hardly believe that it actually makes a difference.
I have been sarcastic earlier but I basically pointed out the problem which most of us are aware of anyway. Mesmers usually have to jump to quite a few hoops to receive results other classes get way easier and that’s also the case here. It’s an inefficient trait for the sake of a theme or concept.
It could easily need a base value or a higher modifier or even a totally different bonus added to it. Even though Fay is right that this would mean a power creep it basically only is of concern for a Raid Quickness set up. In the end you’d probably just safe a few slots of boon duration gear. Other builds which utilize boons on Mesmers are hardly anywhere near to being too powerful so I wouldn’t mind.
Regarding Signets I’ve always been a fan of moving the condition duration to Signet of Domination – condition damage on this one really doesn’t make much sense – and slap boon duration onto the Signet of Midnight. Inspiration might be the better spot themewise but we’d then lose our pseudo speed Signet plus using it actively would be very counterproductive.
