A charr using Spatial Surge looks odd...
Yes, I wanted to play against all expectations and decided to roll a male mesmer charr. After equiping a greatsword I can say that I don’t think its autoattack is working as intended… The light effects seem to be messed up so that he looks like he’s stretching a rubber band between his paws or something.
I don’t know if the same thing occurs with a female charr and my character slots are full so I can’t test it.
I didn’t know the Charr has a “summon Asura MegaLaser” skill!
Looks like it’s shooting with an invisible bow.
I see your problem, you made a charr mesmer!
Stay out of the raspberry jam jar?
look at how asura do it it doesn’t even float we hold on to it in a similar manner to the charr
:C i like the charrs GS auto attack i dont like the asuras though
i like like im holding on for dear life
:c o well at least im cute

I think it looks pretty good and in general all of the animations match the races pretty well:
humans norn and sylvari wouldn’t be able to hold the sword straight, so they float it instead
charr have the upper body strength to hold it one handed (at least enough to point)
asura need to hold on with both hands because they aren’t strong enough to hold the sword one handed, but at the same time, the floaty sword wouldn’t be visible to the player because of the asura’s size
also the fact that it’s called spatial surge implies that there may be some recoil, so the human-shaped races use the floating to absorbthe recoil, charr are strong enough to keep the sword steady even WITH the recoil, and asura use their own bodies to brace themselves against it
